Chick King — Restaurant in Birmingham

I used to go here regularly with my friend. Unfortunately the experience degraded over time. On one occasion, I specifically asked for a 'grilled' cheeseburger. Instead the staff deep-fry the beef patty. When I made it clear I wanted it grilled, they took it out of the fat-fryer, placed it on the grill which wasn’t even turned on and pretended that it was cooking. That was the last visit. Wouldn't recommend it at all... Food was not good quality l, chicken kebab was full of gristle. The salad is mixed so you have to make do with onion and cucumber if you want just lettuce... Chips tasted like they were made the previous day and reheated. I've also got the most upset stomach I've ever had. And service... Well he wasn't happy about getting off his phone to take my order ... Will not...

Great staff who have been there decades, friendly atmosphere, you can eat in, always a quick banter with the main man, if I go to a local chip shop around Handsworth this is no1. Always good quality food and good prices, if you haven't gone before and are thinking of it, you will not be disappointed....
