Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Birmingham

PLEASE READ** So I visited this Costa on pershore road on 19/11/24 at 17:55 pm and staff behind the till was Misbah. I was craving a hot chocolate and a slice of Bakewell tart/cake....It was fairly empty and not busy at all so the two staff were cleaning. I was waiting to be served Misbah was cleaning the glass shelves where all the cakes and pastries are placed....to my suprise she was spraying the detergent onto the shelf whilst food was still on the shelf...which means that non of the food was protected from the chemicals and carcinogens of the spray and still serving to customers!!!! I'm shocked at the lack of training and standards from a health and safety point. It's actually common sense to spray the detergent onto a blue roll/cloth then wipe down a surface rather than spray it onto/next to food produce! I'm lucky she took her time to serve me so I was able to see what she was actually doing. I even explained to her that she shouldn't clean like that as she was contaminating all the food. Her response was defensive and instead of understanding my concerns she was in unbothered and continued. Costa management needs to up their standards, because of this is how the staff operates Infront of customers, just imagine what other poor standards they have behind...

Two click and serve orders. Both forgotten about. First order, the staff apologised and gave us free muffins (which we weren't expecting). So we returned. We're nurses out in the community and click and serve is convenient for us, so that we can collect our order then quickly go to the next patient's home. The staff member today - I didn't get her name - was really rude. She was working the drive thru at 12:30. She said that we "needed to go in store to collect." I tried to explain it was a click and serve order. We waited half an hour for our food and drinks. She said she would bring it round when I notified her at the drive thru that we hadn't received our order. We waited another twenty minutes. We were parked up for nearly an hour total (11:40 til 12:30). Thanks Costa - great way to treat a couple of NHS staff trying to grab a quick midday snack in our busy day seeing patients. We won’t be returning here and will go elsewhere for food...

I went to the drive in on the Pershore Road about 17.30 today and ordered two Medium hot chocolates with syrup I said no cream on either to the lady who took the order and again to the guy serving the drinks. When I got home the drinks were wrong. Both had cream and one was actually a gingerbread coffee. The cups were only half full. Which is misleading and not what you expect from drinks costing £6.34. Neither drink was correct. Struggled to get a number got the drive through. Spoke to a nice lady called Chantelle who tried to resolve the issue but it was up to the drive through. Still unable to find a contact number online out via another store I tried to complain online which I eventually did manage to complete the form and submit the complaint. I have had a completely rubbish experience and can’t resume the problem as the store...
