Karahi King Village — Restaurant in Birmingham

We went to this place due to reviews. However, our experience was disappointing.

We went to this restaurant on a Monday around 3 pm. We had been travelling from Glasgow with a toddler since 6 am so stopping every now and then on the way. We were hungry and went to this restaurant based on reviews.

I understand that many may have experienced a good dining experience because of dining at fairly normal time but we did not.

Food was definitely not like the reviews said. Cucumber from salad was definitely not from the same day. Ordered Nihari and it did not taste like one, have had Nihari from multiple places and this was the first one that did not taste like one and they did not even serve the add on items that usually comes on top of the curry or on the side. Almost seemed like they made another curry. Asked the server and she spoke to the chef and informed us that the main chef was not there. (If the appropriate chef is not on site then please just say that the curry is not possible at that time. Serve according to the strengths of the present chef, not what is on the menu. The wrong chef isn't going to make it worth coming back for.)

We also ordered loaded chips and then changed to cheesy chips when the server mentioned doner in loaded chips. However, we were served loaded chips. We did not complain about it. We just avoided the meat. But just so that you know, please confirm the order if not sure or write it. I am aware that we were changing the order but at the same time, we asked for mojitos and we were told they are served so we ordered accordingly then we were told they are not served so had to change order again.

Server was fine, not passionate, just seemed like someone working to earn but when I would dine at a place like this, I would want server to at least seem like they care. Doesn't have to be too extra. However, based on our experience, it did definitely tick me off when she was chatting to another staff member about personal stuff. Because am not having a decent experience with food and dining, why would you chat about personal conversations in front of customers?

I had a toddler and evidently toddler made a mess, I did try to clean up as much as I could. So hopefully server did not have to go overboard with cleaning after our table.

Maybe the place is good to visit when it is fully operational at dinner time. However, 3 pm visit was very disappointing. It even caused a rift amongst us as we were already very hungry and some just wanted to dine at a place more familiar such as MyLahore instead of trying a new place that we had never...

I have been there with my family last year during the Easter holidays and we all had a good look around to this place.

The food was absolutely delicious because we have been looking at the menu to order lots of new things to try for the first time.

I don't understand why most people are complaining about the portion sizes on their plates because they were saying that the chef was serving too less well if they have a problem with it then I suggest them to stop being so ungrateful and eat your food in peace.

The only good thing is that you can fill up your unlimited drinks as much as you want when you get more thirsty and it's really fascinating.

Let's be honest with you when I first came here I've seen most people are moaning about why is the food was too expensive when they have ordered their own choices of food I mean seriously if they are having a trouble of paying lots of food by cash then I suggest them to pay by card because it is much too easier for you when they have brought their whole family along with them to have an evening meal together.

I would like to give BDK a 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ because they have been working really hard to organise this place for the customers to come here to have their meals with their friends and families I must say the chefs have been really busy preparing lots of different varieties of foods for the hungry customers to be served on time.

The only thing is that this place needs to be more organised because there are many people are making a complaint about the food was too cold and by serving the wrong order OMG it's not their fault to be honest if they have an issue about it then they need to speak to the manager and he will understand the situation.

The staffs are very helpful and friendly because they have been treating the customers very well and it's so lovely to have a great company with them.

I will be recommending this place very soon with my family only if they feel like it and it's valuable for money.

Having being turned down on opening the owners have been constantly messaging me and the lads to give the business a chance as its not fair to leave 1 star review without trying the food... so we thought we would give it a try. Oh how we wish we didn't!!

We came on a quiet day yet the waiter has no idea about the menu and our food took around 1 hour to arrive when the restaurant was empty. Few of the lads ordered chips as a side order yet when the rest of the food arrived the chips were yet to be seen. 20 minutes later it still has not arrived so the chips was taken off our order. Bearing in mind we are hungry at this point, one of the owners (elderly gentleman) was begging us for good reviews before we could start eating and wouldn't leave us to eat in peace and kept talking in his own language which none of us understood.

Most of what we ordered was out of stock so we was limited on choice, however when the wings arrived it was burnt like charcoal and I like my food well done aswell! The food had no taste whatsoever and the kofte kebab tasted like 'gasoline' according to one of the lads! Luckily for us we had a gas safe engineer at hand to save the day! The next day all of our stomach had the worse for wear which was anticipated, I am guessing it's to do with the lack of hygiene.

Not forgetting that we nearly got few fines coming our way if it wasn't for the last minute reminder from the waiter to put our numberplate on their system as the carpark is private land.

Overall disappointed, will need a big improvement to turn it around starting with good customer service.

Got kicked out as they were busy. Travelled 40 mins for this. they wouldn't let us wait around for a table. Poor customer service and business...
