Absolutely appalled with the service myself and my 75 year old mother received while visiting this pub for a meal, We was flying out from the airport early hours in the morning we had traveled from machester and booked a air b&b local , we was hungry and not much shops was still open so we decided to go into wethespoons for a meal as i go to my lacal wetherspoons freqentley in machester and the food not to bad, on this occation we ordered fish chips and peas, with that meal you got a drink included i had a gin and my mother had soft drink as she 75, we had the meal and straight away went outside seating area as i was quite roudy inside, within seconds of sitting down i started to feel really funny my head was spinning my heart rate was beating so fast, i was sweating buckets and my vision was very bleared it was very scary, i said to my mother i dont frrl good i feel really funny. she said you have gone grey i had to lie down on the bench with poeple asking am i ok, i felt like i was going to die, as i stopped spinning i sat up and vomited violently i managed to stagger behind the binn as people was drinking sat on te benches it was horrific, I asked management if someone could get someone to clean up with a bucket of water and he said to me you have to go.... i told him that i hadnt been drinking and hadnt drank bthe drink that came with the meal... it was so embarrassing he didnt ask me if i was ok or i needed any assistance or a glass of water he told told me and my 75 year vold mother had to leave i was discussted in the service i recieved.. when we got back to our room my mother at 75 began to v be very poorly, we had the same meal and both was poorly i wish i would of gone to the hospital as i know the food made us both unwell not the best way to be treated by staff the manager at that.......

I was told by a member of the bar staff that they only had plastic cups as they were waiting for some clean mugs. Eventually got my mug but then the coffee machine had run out of milk. So I told a member of the bar staff who went to fetch some more milk. Went back to my table & my breakfast arrived Took a couple or so mouthfuls to find out the cooked breakfast I ordered was nearly cold. I then went back to the bar & went back to the bar to tell the staff about my breakfast.A lady standing at the bar told me the breakfast she had earlier was also cold & she had to hand it back. My second breakfast arrived & this was ok. No apology from staff whatsoever. I am afraid I won't be visiting this...
Read moreNot been to a Wetherspoon pub for some time but found the Spread Eagle a very good experience. We actually came to attend a funeral at the church across the road at 12.00. We arrived early just after 10.00 because I was worried about finding a place to park. Fortunately there was a public parking lot behind the pub and it only cost just over £3 for 4 hours. The machine accepted cash or card so no hassle with using a so called smart phone. The weather was not good so we passed the time inside the Spread Eagle. I had a coffee and my wife a bacon butty and a cup of tea. Very reasonably priced and we were able to top up the drinks for free. Had a glass of wine before leaving for the funeral. The atmosphere was very good plenty of locals...
