Ladana Café — Restaurant in Birmingham

We visited this great looking restaurant for brunch when we were staying in stourbridge. It was quite busy whe we went in so we waited for a table to be cleaned and made available for us. The waitress took us to our table and the table was still dirty with food and drink marks on the table with a napkin and one fork - probably left over from the previous diners. We ordered the food and while the waiter was there he submitted the order and one of the group asked if they could change part of their order they were told once the order is submitted to the kitchen no amendment can be made - which we all found odd! But having read some of the other Google reviews on here you can understand.

The food all arrived hot and was cooked well. With the missing cutlery we had assumed the waiting staff would bring some but they didnt. We had to request cutlery as we had food for 5 people on the table but none had cutlery. The waiter turned up with 2 sets of cutlery and just walked off - we had to tell him to get 3 more. You would think he would've looked at the table or asked how many we needed but didnt. There's a good number of front facing staff that work there, most were congregating at the bar area. We realised the turkey rashers were missing from the plate in the photo we told one of the waiters who didn't seem at all bothered by it until we told him we would like it so he returned with some from the kitchen - no apology or anything.

Hopefully the owner sees this review. They've clearly spent a lot of money on creating a great looking restaurant. And employ a good number of staff to ensure customers get at the very least an acceptable...

Visiting birmingham and was recommended this place by a friend. After a quick google search, from pictures we thought to try it out. Unfortunately was a disappointment from the first minute. The cafe has no parking and when you ask the waiters where's safe from the traffic warden to park, they have no idea.

We ordered the Full English Breakfast, Eggs royale and a fresh orange juice. English breakfast was poor with overdone eggs, undercooked (or even uncooked) turkey bacon and lack of any flavour or quality ingredients to make it stand out at all from the much cheaper places on the same road. Eggs royale had uncooked egg whites, some strange potato chip/crisps and untoasted english muffins and the orange juice had been watered down to a point where it pretty much just tasted like water.

But the bad experience didn't end there. Halfway through our meal a waiter approaches and confiscates our water bottles. When questioned why? he couldn't give me us a reason and all he would say is your not allowed to bring your own drinks! Firstly, it was water, not a drink, and secondly i have never been to any establishment ever in my life, where im not allowed to drink from my own water bottle!! This was shocking and at this point we decided to leave. I could tell this was done on the instruction of the manager sat behind the bar twiddling his thumbs doing nothing to ensure his customers are happy and satisfied with their visit. Even as he took payment for the meal with a miserable face, he couldn't even be bothered to ask if we were happy with the food...
