RAMADAN WARNING!!!! Do not under any circumstance order from this place for Iftar. Awful experience received earlier today, we ended up breaking our fast 45 minutes late!
I ordered 1 hour before Iftar time and was advised a 15 minute wait, we checked up on the status after 20 mins only to be lied to and told another 15 mins wait time, we were slightly confused as it was just 3 burgers however we waited patiently another 15 mins. We could see the shop was beginning to get busy and they were taking unusually large volumes of orders, it was clear they were not going to meet such a large demand but they kept continuing to accept orders.
We soon realised every Uber eats delivery driver was getting their food and we were still waiting, It became evident that Mak Halal were unable to deal with the sheer volume of orders they were receiving and most importantly, accepting. This meant that they were now prioritsing Uber Eats customers over their in house orders, the motivation to do this was because Uber Eats and delivery platforms have minimum delivery time standards or else penalties are issued, they were also protecting themselves against bad reviews on the delivery platforms which will effect their ranking.
After we realised they had been giving our food to the Uber drivers we had to kick up a fuss which only then did they decided to take it seriously. During our wait, we witnessed on several occasions UBER EATS customers complaining they didn’t get their order right via Uber Eats, this meant they had to come in to collect the remainder of their order thus missing Iftar.
In conclusion it is clear that ‘management’ (if you can call it that) was a total shambles, bunch of novices trying to run a burger joint, their company ethos is simple “Take as many orders as possible knowing Their customers were fasting all day and deal with the consequences later”, these bunch of greedy, avaricious humans lack basic morals and fundamental customer service capabilities. Many customers had to be refunded their bill so they would avoid bad reviews.
The overall quality of food was poor and stale along with disgusting customer service which ruined our evening. AVOID...

We ordered 2 Pizzas both cost £8.99 and were large but looked medium size. Once I placed the ordered the guy at the till gave me to vibrator alarms saying sit in the car and we will ring the "Buzzer". After waiting over 25 minutes in the car I decided to pop in to see where on earth the Pizza had gone.
As soon as I asked the cashier he told me another 5 minutes which I found to be very cheeky considering the long wait I had already endured. He was like come back again but this time I told him I will wait inside for it to be made. When it arrived the first pizza looked undercooked and I could literally see it undercooked. I pointed it out to the guy and he was like that's how the Pizza is. So I waited another 10 minutes for the other pizza to arrive. Must be one of the slowest pizza makers in Birmingham.
When I asked for dips considering my large order you would think he would put a few extra dips but he rashioned them out as though he was handing out gold.
The 2 Pizzas were undercooked, straight after eating I felt unwell. Overpriced large pizza ( do make sure you ask them to show you the box before you order as I didn't and it the pizza looked more like a medium which is usually a 12inch and they are advertising as "Large")
Sadly had high expectations of this place especially with the brand I heard was suppose to be good but really not good at all.
Poor Food especially Pizza that's Also very slim base it seems they are saving on dough.
Poor service with no clear timeframe Given regarding how long order would take.
In terms of price and size it wasn't value for money as a large which is 12 inch pizza is sold at £8.99. If you go around Birmingham there's many that do a large which is bigger in size for lesser than the price and more filling.
My experience was not good at all. No apology for the long wait and the cashier...
Read moreAssalamualaikum I am writing to raise a serious concern regarding a recurring issue at your Small Heath branch, which I believe undermines the trust and integrity of your brand.
As a regular and loyal customer, I have always appreciated Mak Halal’s offerings, especially the value-packed deals that include burgers and pizzas. However, I have noticed a concerning pattern at this branch, particularly during weekends, where staff often claim that pizzas are “unavailable.” This forces customers, including myself, to forego the advertised deals and instead pay higher prices for individual items.
This practice appears to be a deliberate strategy to generate more revenue by denying customers access to the deals. Such actions not only mislead customers but also tarnish the reputation of Mak Halal, which is beloved for its quality, value, and ethical approach to serving the community.
I kindly urge you to: Investigate the operations at the Small Heath branch to ensure the advertised deals are consistently available as promised. Provide clear communication and transparency to customers regarding product availability. Take measures to ensure fair and honest business practices across all branches to preserve the trust of your loyal customer base.
Mak Halal has built a strong reputation within the community, and it would be disheartening to see that compromised by such practices. I hope my feedback will help you address this issue promptly and prevent further dissatisfaction among your customers.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and the steps you will take to...
