Set the scene... a much anticipated festive celebration for family and friends. Sparkle, magic, and the wonder of celebration. Oh, sorry, that's not this place at all. There's porridge out there spicier than you get here - a range of dishes were ordered from mild to "3 chilli pepper", all of which could be served to a one year old and they'd be bored (I'm not even kidding. Baby food is spicier). It's like eating soggy sawdust. Don't expect dessert, there isn't any to be had. Last of all, the very best bit. The most creative award of the evening went to the bill. Which bore absolutely no resemblance whatsoever to the published prices on the web menu. In any way. Not even close. Massively overcharged when compared, and surprise surprise... a completely illegible bill with drinks nothing more than a scribble at the bottom. Staff stood there finding everyone's puzzlement very amusing. Their grins only broadened and their eyes twinkled when a further pile of tenners landed on the plate to cover the mysterious cost of what what was, without a doubt, the worst curry any and all of our 20 strong party had ever had. Mahfil is second to none when it comes to providing exceptional food and a wonderful service. The food is always of the highest quality, fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. The staff are extremely friendly and very customer focussed, nothing is ever too much trouble and they are always very welcoming. The restaurant area itself is always spotless, beautifully presented and a lovely space in which to sit and spend time with friends, family and colleagues whilst enjoying beautiful food in pleasant surroundings. We often have take away food and again, the quality and service is of the highest standard. Prices too are very reasonable and there is parking available around The Green too. I cannot fault Mahfil, we’ve been eating and ordering Take Away food for many, many years and would never contemplate...
