I was fortunate enough for the Mrs to treat me for a Steak night, in celebration of her first wages as a fully qualified staff nurse. This little gem is 10 min from our house, so right up our street. Plenty of parking but I can imagine it can get busy on peak times, we went midweek and it was evident that its a popular place, as some people that didn't book, had to wait a few minutes for a table. Staff was very nice and friendly and the interior decor was good, as to be expected from a Steak house. Ordered from our waiter and the drinks came out in a few minutes after ordering. Starters we got some mushrooms and cheese with toasted bread strips. We ordered food and that two didn't take too long, but I didn't get the feeling that they need to get the food on the table quick so as to get rid of the customers, it was very well paced and timed, didn't feel rushed. The food itself was super nice. I got the 50day aged steak and the wife got the 30day aged, both medium rare as is obviously the best way for steak 😋 The chips and salad along with the main course are well presented and the onions are in a square instead of rings, as a welcome change on the norm. Pudding we went for sticky toffee pudding, and this was the only bit that I found was not to my liking. It tasted well good, but the texture of it was not what I expected, or is used to, but don't get me wrong, it's not awful and not even a reason to drop a star for it was still very nice, but next time I'll try a different pudding. The ice-cream and toffee sauce was very good with it. Food tasted top class and we both enjoyed our night and food. Vowed to return again, and tell our friends. Price wise it was what we expected from a more high end sort of establishment, food and drinks all in for 75 of the Queens leafs💷.

For all the "hype" about how good the meal are at M&C, the ones we had (as a party of 4) at Sutton Park (on Saturday 28 December '24) were far from it. Two 8oz medium cooked rumps, with one hard (overcooked?) at one end. My 12oz medium ribeye was nice but pretty average. (4th guest had lamb which was good). Then we had desserts - my crème brulÊ was completely cold (although tbh it's the first time I've had one and didn't know that the top caramelized sugar should have been warm, with only the custard below being cold). My other 3 guests all had sticky toffee pudding and custard (in a separate jug). A nice funny touch on my wife's dessert was "Happy birthday" written on the edge of the dish. But both items were cold, not even luke warm. We told the waitress, and she took them away to have hot ones returned. When the new ones came (with one that looked like it had been thrown on the dish as it was upside down (not the end of the world, but nonetheless.......). But these replacements were just about lukewarm, even the custard! So, in summary, the steaks were just average and the desserts were below average. Doesn't any chef know that the staple English dessert of sticky toffee pudding and custard is supposed to be served HOT. I suppose we should have complained about the desserts a 2nd time, or said that we didn't want to pay for them, but we just wanted to leave as we'd already been there almost 3 hours (chatting on our corner table overlooking the lake - this was a good spot). Would I recommend M&C Sutton to anyone? I'm afraid not, especially as we paid just short of £150 for the 2 courses, without drinks.

Visited Miller and Carter in Sutton Park for our anniversary and we did have a lovely meal. Our waitress Kat was really friendly, polite and attentive and couldn’t have done more for us. One thing worth mentioning is the man who’s as front of house who seats you, wasn’t really very friendly and was clearly trying to sit us down as quickly as possible, we almost lost him walking through the restaurant! Also, he sat us crammed in with a lot of other people when half the restaurant was empty. I am sure there is a reason behind why they do this, but it did look a bit ridiculous that there was so many empty tables elsewhere and we we placed almost elbow to elbow with other customers. We were sat next to a very loud family so this was a bit of a shame and effected our experience. The food however was fantastic, couldn’t fault this at all. We shared the butchers block as it was a special occasion and you really do get a lot for your money. All steaks were cooked very well and the stuffed bone marrow with cheese on top was amazing! Also had the dirty cheese and brisket topped fries which were also very tasty. We shared the brownie for desert which was nice, very dense but great quality and very nice indeed. Kat also wrapped up the bone for us to take home to the dog which was a nice touch. Overall a nice experience, but we were quite annoyed we was crammed in, just couldn’t understand it when there was so much space elsewhere. We was also sat on the direct path of the giant roof heater, so we was really hot throughout the meal as well as being around so many other people!

We requested a lake view for the valentines menu which I understand can’t always be granted but we were sat in a corner by the toilets. As I sat down I had to wipe my own seat from food from the previous customer. My partner ordered a rose and raspberry soda which he pointed to the item on the menu too but received a tonic water, after informing another waiter she checked out order on the tablet and I told us it was put down as a tonic water so she went back to replace it and came back telling us that we had the right drink to begin with, she was gaslighting us into believing it was the correct drink when she herself told us it was on the tablet wrong and the man who originally served us came over to apologise as “the tablet messed up”. The way she made me feel already put a damper on our valentines evening. The menu was filthy so i put it on the floor away from sight and the lamp had food smears all down it so i had to cover it up with the salt and pepper as it was off putting. When my starter came my dish was all chipped all around which for “fine dining” I didn’t expect. I also ordered a “very well” done steak which the waiter (the same man) joked asking if I want it crispy which I said yes so he clearly noted down the correct way only to receive pink meat. My boyfriend ordered seasoned fries and go given vegetables. I didn’t want to wait again for my food to be cooked after waiting for the fries which weren’t even seasoned and my boiled potatoes were bland. For £80 it was the worst valentines ever I had tears in my eyes. We did have the valentines set menu but we left before we had desert because the experience was just awful. To top it off, one of the kitchen staff came out to talk to a waiter and they put their hand down their trousers while stood in the corner. My boyfriend also said one of the staff members left the toilet a mess. I was always told miller and carter was the best place to go for steak and everyone raves over the franchise including my sister so I was excited to go for the first time under the impression it would be a nice restaurant. But we were very disappointed. We were told there was a dress code too by others but so many people were in shorts and T shirts and hoodies with bubble trainers, it didn’t feel romantic in the slightest. I left the place hungry, feeling down from the treatment and...

Sad to say, how awful my food was. I had the surf and turf. I asked for medium rare. My plate was not a nice site once it reached the table. After 1 minute on the table, there was lots of blood, which went into the onion cake, salad, lobster, and chips. Secondly the air con was on, I asked for it to be switched off 3 times after 10 minutes as it was freezing. My lobster was stone cold. I struggled to remove the lobster from its shell. When I asked to speak to the manager. He admitted the steak was cooked rare and not rested. I also advised it woujd be nice if i was supplied with a libster fork to remove the lobster meat, or the chef remove fromnthe shell, then pkaced back inside the shell for presentation, so.its easier for the customer. The manager, also said i should not have had to ask 3 times for the air con to be switched off. My meal was ÂŁ46.00, fare price, if its cooked to desired instructions, not bloody or cold. I also recommended, instead of being asked 10 seconds into the meal.if the food was ok, to leave a time lapse of 10 minutes for a true critique. As compensation, the manager then offered free puddings, I just wanted to get home and get warm. He deducted ÂŁ10 from my meal and the value of 2 drinks, again ÂŁ10.00, total ÂŁ20.00. Personally, that's a poor offer. The meal should have been deducted completely. Very, disapointed. We used to go Milker & Carter often, taking family and friends, often buying gift vouchers for gifts for people. But feel, not only is the decor tired, so we're the staff, and the meal was very poor. This is now my 3rd disapointing visit. I've been eating there for years, spending anything from ÂŁ100, to ÂŁ 800.00 and ÂŁ900.00 on special family get togethers, drinking champagne, wines and cocktails. I will definitely not be recommending Milker & Carter to anyone in the near future. How sad and a complete waste of money. And to top it off, it made me feel sick for the rest of the evening. Thank you, Miller and Carter for a memorable unfortunate...

I am not a person who usually complains but the treatment my family and myself received this evening can not go unchecked. We booked for our daughter’s 16th birthday and had a high hopes due to us using Millar and Carter in Sutton Park. We placed our orders and explained our youngest daughter does not want any vegetables or any other accompanying food with her sea bass fillet, just chips. We joked with the waiter about this. Sea bass and chips only. We also ordered starters where we ordered garlic toast with no cheese for my youngest. To start. Garlic toast arrived with cheese, this understandably can be mistaken. Main meal and the sea bass came on top of the full regale of green and potato. We asked to have this changed and they did but what they did was inexcusable. They took the fish off the top and put it on a plate and delivered it back with all the veg etc on the underside. I complained and they changed it. I then asked to speak to the manager who I was told is Micheal. He came to our table with a total disrespecting attitude. I explained the above but did not listen and kept saying ‘do you want a fresh fish’. I said again and again no it’s been swapped but his face was so angry it made us feel uncomfortable and everyone started looking at us. In the end he walked away. Everyone kept staring at us. My wife and myself couldn’t finish our meals we were so annoyed. It was an evening for our daughter. I do not want a free meal of refund. If this is the way your managers operate your restaurants I will never darken your door again. Please note I will also publish my complaint all over public media. I/We have never been treated like this before. The pictures show what we left and what we always spend in your restaurant, your Manager ruined our daughters birthday.

This is the email I have issued to Miller and Carter due to the way my family and myself have...
