Molly's Cafe — Restaurant in Birmingham

Yesterday, We visited that coffee shop , as it was announced closing at 13.00, and it was 12.20 , so we decided to go there to grab a coffee while we were waiting for a meeting in a place nearby.

So the welcome was ..."we are about to close you cannot order any food" .Fair enough I would say if that answer would have been to a question , what do you have in the food menu? but even we didn't have time to say good afternoon.

After that as we were there and to.be honest didn't know what to do we just order 2 coffees to take away and use the bathroom, while I was waiting for my girlfriend to come back from the toilet, one of the ladies told me, you cannot seat we are about to close,.Fair enough I will say if I would be the only one in the establishment but i wasn't . An other couple were having food, a family having food and an other 2 girls next to the bathroom having food and drinks as well and while I was waiting ,one of the last mentioned ladies ,she grabbed a can from the fridge and asked to an other of the baristas to add it to the bill while she was getting back to the her table.

My thoughts at the time was ...The lady was stressed and wanted to go home as quick ASAP as I completely understandood being Sunday...but also I felt a bit discriminated as we were the only foreigners in the shop ,that was my second thoughts after I left .That kind of behaviour made us feel as a second category citizens.

By the way, the coffee wasn't...

Been going for years but won't be going back after the same problems happening three times in a row. Horrendously rude (when placing the order - not a word uttered at all, except "not available" - three times - didn't even bother to tell me how much the order was, just shoved the card machine at me. No eye contact, no "hello", no "what would you like/can I get you", etc - nothing). Items out of stock, and messed up the order completely. What tastes like cheap rubbish instant coffee, filter coffee machine "broken", dirty serving counter, tiny cups. Filthy caked ketchup/brown sauce bottles that haven't been cleaned by the looks of it - just refilled behind the serving counter. Salt and pepper pot bases sticky and ingrained with grime - disgusting. Can get far better elsewhere for far less (a hundred or so yards across or up the road). Used to be iconic and a treat - now just bad, even after a few chances and hoping each time it was a one off - dining in and delivery both - not any more for me....

My first time from here today, my sister Tara ordered via just eat as she highly recommended Mollys and wanted to treat me to brekko. We had The Tiddler beakfast each and I was highly impressed for the money plus everything was cooked to perfection on this breakfast. My only moan is.. We Ordered "Hash Brown's 90p from the extras to find its only 1 hash brown so, change it to" Hash brown... Also.. Black pudding portion as an extra and costing 80p... I requested it well done as I love it cooked and it was barely cooked. Toast... Not buttered around the edges.. Yes I'm fussy!! So for these reasons only 4 stars today!!! I have took into account they may have been busy etc but I did also ring to check they'd received my notes and was told they had. Little changes like these really make a difference. Overall I highly recommend Mollys Cafe and shall be ordering myself from my own just eat app!! Thanks for a very enjoyable...
