Poor customer service, one bar man mumbles and was so disinterested it was shocking. Felt like we had inconvenienced him. Had to clarify multiple times what was being said. Got to be the most grumpiest person I have ever come across in a customer service role. To top it off he was sitting outside looking miserable and someone said to him you’ve got customers you better go inside as we were walking in and even then he looked put out and took his time. Shockingly lazy, bad initial impression created for the customer and highly off putting. Other staff are also not great either, not interested, highly unfriendly, this needs improving drastically to enhance the customer experience! Person I was with also commented on how bad the staff and service was when getting drinks and didn’t enjoy this part at all and actually felt uncomfortable due to the unfriendly nature of the staff. Some were also laughing AT customers showing how utterly unprofessional they are. A lot of them are young but need some serious training in customer service. Outdoor seating area is decent with a good atmosphere. Not sure if I would ever go back due to the poor customer experience created by the unfriendly staff, superior local places around with far better welcoming customer service you’re better off...
Read moreHad come here with a group of around 20 friends last night. All taking cash out if machines in preparation on the way as it was raining and didn't want to shoot out to grab cash should it be required, as almost all pubs do.
To our surprise we went in and were told they were only accepting the EXACT change or card and would refuse cash where they needed to get change. As the night went on, it was clear after taking the correct change that they had change should people want to pay cash.
They ended up refusing all cash and would only accept card.
Cash is legal tender and some people have to, or prefer to still use it due to a number of needs or circumstances. To discriminate against those who wanted to pay cash was abhorrent, especially when the drinks and cocktails weren't up to scratch at all.
We did move on to another place but would have probably stayed longer, purchased more goods etc should cash have been accepted.
It would be a great idea for the Prince of Wales to become more customer focussed as opposed to relying on the reputation of being based in Moseley, where, by the way, there are much better pubs and bars...
Read moreLove this place !! Been a patron for years, I remember the cigar cave & the sand beach on the side of the Tiki Bar..... Sadly we've lost those features due to the new renovations.
However that doesn't change it from being a good place to spend an afternoon or evening with friends.
Great bars where you can get a variety of drinks for example.... In the rear heated covered garden they have a Tiki bar for a great range of cocktails, ( My favourite is the Zombie Cocktail ..... Its set on fire to temper the strength of the Absense they add to the cocktail. They also have a Wine & Cheese bar, In the main building which is grade 2 listed the bar is a traditional bar with all the original fixtures & fittings it transforms you back in time to when it was originally built. They have a cute snug where in the winter time I've seen a log fire lit to keep the patrons warm & cosy.
All in all a fantastic place, you'll not be disappointed at all. However I've not sampled the menu at all. Keep in meaning to try it out but the Zombie Cocktails are too appealing.
If you're in Moseley village it would be a crime not to visit the...
