First time visiting Ponte Di Legno and I was very impressed. Firstly, I must admit to not being a fan of Italian food, but this was an exception. Upon arrival I couldn’t believe how busy it was with a que forming from the inside and continuing outside which shows how popular this restaurant is. Luckily, I booked in advance and was seated very quickly. The staff here are very friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was cosy and well laid out to accommodate many people on both sides of the restaurant. We were well looked after and didn’t feel forgotten at any point. The food here was amazing! I ordered the prawn starter and lamb shank for the main. As a lover of lamb, this was highly satisfying and the meat melts in your mouth. The gravy on top was also delicious. We also shared a range of breads which were all amazing in taste. Really pleased to have discovered Ponte Di Legno and would recommend anyone to try this place out, especially if you’re a fan of Italian food as it’s not likely to disappoint in my eyes with great quality food and preparation. Thank you to all the staff and I shall be returning in the future to sample more of the menu!

You might think a fine dining halal Italian restaurant doesn’t exist in Birmingham—until you discover Ponte di Legno. Nestled in the heart of Moseley Village, this hidden gem is the very pinnacle of Birmingham’s culinary scene, offering a fully halal menu that doesn’t compromise on authenticity or flavor. Step inside, and you’re immediately reminded of a quaint trattoria tucked away in the streets of Naples or Florence. The cosy layout, with its closely spaced tables, creates an intimate, welcoming atmosphere that feels both familiar and special. The food? It’s nothing short of exceptional. Every dish on the menu is a masterpiece, from the freshly baked focaccia to the indulgent garlic bread with cheese, from hearty pastas to perfectly cooked fillet steak. Each bite is a transportive experience, evoking the true essence of Italian cuisine. Having visited Ponte di Legno numerous times, I can confidently say there’s not a single dish I wouldn’t recommend. It’s a privilege to have such an outstanding eatery as a local spot, and it’s one I’ll happily return to time and time again.

This place is by the far most exceptional Italian food restaurant ever. From the decor, the amazing service, staff are full of life and humorous. The food was beautifully fresh, and tasted so amazing. We opted to have all our food come together - a vegetarian pizza, chicken tagitelle and salmon salad with some fries. For drink we had a lemon drink and a j20. The salmon was absolutely divine and the salad and dressing complimented it so well. The tagliatelle was creamy and the chicken was no skimped on. The fresh ingredients on the pizza made it taste so moreish and the fries were crunchy yet soft in the centre. The presentation of the food was exceptional too which is a bonus for me also. Food didn't take that long to come. We got there early evening and it started getting very busy as we sat eating our food. The staff were so jolly just made the experience so much more better. They made everyone laugh- also nothing was too much trouble for them. The aesthetic is beautiful- love the ambience- nice place for an occasion or get together- free parking close by too.

Looking through the reviews, it seems to be a common thing where customers are disappointed with Customer Service.

I have been to this restaurant numerous times and really enjoyed it, so decided to take my younger family members there.

As we entered the restaurant, there is a very narrow waiting area. There was a couple behind us who where patiently waiting and was told off by one of the waiters.

When we were sat down at the table, the waiter referred to a family member who wears a scarf as Khadeejah, which in my opinion is very offensive which he then found funny. We decided we would feel it would be better for us to share meals as we are not big eaters. It felt as though we where looked down upon for wanting to share, none the less we continued our evening and had an enjoyable time.

At the end of the meal, we asked for the bill which took over 10 minutes. As we went over to pay at the till, the staff behaved as we were going to run out of the restaurant without paying. When we did eventually receive the bill, we was trying figure out what we were paying for individual foods and drinks. The bill had a service charge which we did not want to pay, we were questioned by the waiter, who initially said they would not remove the service charge and made us feel dumb despite it being our right. We felt pressured to pay the service charge and as we did not want to the waiter did not want to serve us, which was very rude and offensive and ruined our mood.

Eventually the service charge was taken away. On the way out the waiter said to my family ‘ come again, but tell her to stay at home’ which was very offensive and hurtful as I was the oldest member of the family and ofc would speak on behalf of my younger family members. For this reason I would never go to this...

This was such a mixed experience. I went around 6, already there was a queue that formed which was fine, myself and my friend weren’t in a rush and actually seeing a queue forming made us excited because a queue for a restaurant must mean there’s good food. We were then seated and noticed how busy the place was and it was really cramped but again, if you’ve been to these types of Italian places it wouldn’t put you off. However, once we made our order it took them an hour to give us our food, with a waiter shouting at another about our wait time when he realised everyone else who came after us got their food and not us. Again, mistakes happen so it’s fine but we duly noted this and instead went out for dessert rather than staying in as we didn’t want to wait another hour for food. The food, which I got the mixed seafood pasta was amazing honestly the best pasta I’ve ever had and I’ve had plenty. It was quite expensive at £20 but was well worth it. However, the loud atmosphere was too much for us, alongside the wait time and then we also got the wrong bill as he thought we had a starter rather than two drinks, I don’t think we will come back.

If you’re planning on visiting, just make sure you take into account how loud the restaurant is and mentally prep for a long wait time and you’ll be fine, because the food...
