Ambience - 10/10 Hipster modern indian vibes. All the funky, kitchsy but cutesy stuff you'd find in a hipster cafe in India is basically what you'd find ambience wise here. Loud but good indo fusion music.
Food - 8/10 what i had; Raj Kachori, Trio of Dosas, Idli w Sambar & Faludas. All very very good. The Raj Kachori however was a slight let down as the word Raj means King and traditionally & authentically Raj Kachori 'spose to be BIG. But they were these tiny little morsels but yummy. The Dosas and Idlis were SO fresh and well cooked. I'm south indian by heritage and these were so on point, taste wise, looks wise, even the Sambars that came with it were 10/10 (which is insane as you don't even find sambars generally that great in South Indian restaurants IN South India itself!!) however the chutney that was served with it tasted a bit off and not anything like the OG one. The Faludas also were so so good. The right amount of sweetness, thickness and rose flavor. So much better than the ChaiWala ones. Oh and masala chai's flavors were spot on, so was the milk to tea ratio, however it was very very watery, chai (masala or not) is supposed to be creamy and piping hot.
Service - 4/10 We'd booked our table well on advance and upon arrival, no one to seat us. One server was busy at the table, not sure with what. He wasn't making no drinks, or helping with an order etc and the two other servers that we could see were seeing to at least 11-12 tables, all jam packed. Very under staffed and not trained better I suppose. Anyway, we were seated and then 10 minutes passed by till someone came to take our order, all the while my husband was trying to make eye contact with one of the servers lol. We called for someone at the bar finally and were put on wait again. And after placing our order, we waited for a good 20 minutes till our food was served, which were the wrong dishes but was corrected, again after a few servers rushed by us, all avoiding eye contact and can't hear anything over the loud music. This went on till the end of the evening. You'll basically have to leave your seat every time you...

The food quality is much much better and the staff are more energetic and welcoming. Loved it and this time it didnt let us down :) therefore, updating my review from 2 to 5 star. Keep up the good work guys!
Follwing is the review from the first visit:
"I was looking forward to visit this restaurant as I saw their advert on birmingham mail. Hence, we got here on a very first day of its opening. (Tuesday, 7th, Feb) The ambeince is very well designed and one can actually get Indian street vibes. However, the staff lacked enthusiasm (Common its a very first day of your restaurant, you need to have a staff with full of energy or even a smile so a guest could feel that warmness by your hospitality). We didnt find their staff welcoming at all. Anyways, we proceed to order food, thought of having typical indian street food as they have emphasized more on it. We ordered: Pav bhaji, vada pav and chilli cheese toast. The food took so long to arrive that we were given complimentary: idli sambhar and bhel. Which didnt taste good at all. Idli was almost rock solid and BHEL was covered with green chutney. One of their female staff at the front kept on apologising 'we have been really busy sorry you have to wait' Still waiting for food.... we lost our patience. We called a staff and said we would like to pay our drinks and leave the site. She said "the food is just about to arrive" and FINALLY our food arrived. Pav bhaji: Look at the attached image in this review. That is not even close to Pav Bhaji Vada Pav: A tiny vada served with coconut chutney. Who serves a vada pav with coconut chutney Chilli cheese toast: Green Chutney spread on a bread with melted cheese. We just had a bite of everything. Due to the above mentioned reason we then were offered free meal. Gentle advice: You need a new Head chef who has knowledge of Indian Street food. Hoping for a change in food quality and service as this concept in Birmingham is fairly new and I would feel really good if this...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience with this place yesterday night. Ordered from deliveroo at 20:45 pm, time estimated for the food to arrive was 20-30 min. I had assigned a driver after 10 min of ordering my food. Time keeps going up, so I decided to phone the restaurant to understand what was happening with my order. I called the restaurant 5 times in total and nobody pick up, mailbox also was full, so no way to contact them. Their closing time was 22pm and the time estimated in the app for the food to be delivered was now 22:30pm. My stomach was quite upset, so at 9:45pm I decided to order food from a different place. Around 22:30 pm I receive a message from Deliveroo saying your order has been delivered, sorry for making you wait. Obviously, no food arrived so I go to the help section in the app. An employee from Deliveroo call me and calmly explained to me what happened. A first driver arrived to pick the food, and waited for 30 min, food was not ready so he ended up leaving the restaurant. A second driver picked my order, arrived to the restaurant and the staff told him they declined the order because they were closing now. I cańt blame Deliveroo because they did an excellent job, so I do blame the restaurant for being very anti customer service with no picking up the phone and for making the customer wait for 2h with no food being delivered.
Zindiya, to you, I want to say that I am very disappointed, I tried your food once before and it was delicious, but this time you really upset me. If nothing is done to improve your customer service is a red flag.
