I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shazans with my family, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm, welcoming atmosphere that made it clear this was a place designed with everyone in mind—families, individuals, and especially those with disabilities.
Shazans has been designed to accommodate customers with disabilities. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, with a wide door that makes entering effortless. Inside, the spacious layout ensures easy navigation for wheelchairs and mobility aids, and there are plenty of accessible tables with room to manoeuvre.
The staff were exceptionally attentive and well-trained in assisting customers with disabilities. They were quick to offer help without being intrusive, and they made sure to explain the menu in detail, including any modifications that could be made to suit dietary needs or physical limitations. The restrooms were also fully accessible, clean, and well-maintained—a detail that often goes overlooked but is so important.
The seating areas are arranged to accommodate families of all sizes, and the noise level is just right—lively enough to feel welcoming but not so loud that you can’t have a conversation.
The food was absolutely delicious, with a menu that caters to a wide range of tastes and dietary preferences. From hearty comfort food to lighter, healthier options, there’s something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed the Sherpur donor, which was flavorful and beautifully presented. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food.
The service was impeccable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making our experience enjoyable. They checked in regularly to ensure everything was to our liking and were quick to address any requests.
Shazans is a gem of a restaurant that truly stands out for its commitment to inclusivity and family-friendly dining. Whether you’re a family looking for a welcoming spot to enjoy a meal together or a customer with disabilities seeking a comfortable and accessible dining experience, this restaurant delivers on all fronts. I highly recommend it and will definitely be...
Read moreHappen to be passing by the other day and stopped to grab some of their one time famous ‘sherpuri’ doner kebabs.
Haven’t been in a few years… The interior decor & whole layout has changed massively. Looks tired, so it’s been a while but it’s much better than the old layout.
Same people still running it. So that initially seemed like a good sign.
This place used to be a favourite of mine years ago. Would go there for some delicious food with friends whenever I was nearby.
Reminiscing over… On to the important bit, the review!
I ordered one of their sherpuris with fries in addition to a few other things.
The sherpuri I’m saddened to say failed to meet expectations. Tasted nowhere close to what they used years ago. Lacked the unique flavour.
The other items I ordered were okay but nothing wow.
The customer service wasn’t there like before either. Member of staff who served me seemed like he was fed up with life.
Don’t think I’ll be returning any time soon.
Update: 31.07.2024
Returned to this establishment after a very long time. Noticed some time ago they’d changed location and it looked quite good.
Thought I’d give them another chance… Sadly, I have very little positive to say.
Positives:
Interior is a massive improvement compared to before. Improved customer service compared to last visit. Food portion size is good.
Negatives:
Quality and flavour of food has taken a nosedive. Didn’t think it would be like this but that’s how it is unfortunately. ‘CASH ONLY’ and the nearest ATM charges 0.65p per transaction. Ordered one every mocktail off their menu and I would strongly advise everyone not to waste their hard earned monies. At almost £5 each they all pretty much tasted the same with no distinct flavour. The once famous Sherpuri doesn’t even have a hint of the old flavour. Seating is cramped. If all tables are occupied staff struggle to get through. Suitable parking is almost...

I visited with my family and really wanted to share my experience.
First and foremost, from the moment the front of staff welcomed us in, we were amazed by the look of the restaurant! My family felt really relaxed and comfortable, the restaraunt was warm, looked good and was thoroughly clean!
The food - we tried out various dishes and everything was succulent, everything melted in our mouths and they catered for everyone.
We had a full lobster and after dining in some of the best fish restaurants this clearly is now my new Number 1 restaurant. The Lobster was juicy, large and cooked to perfection.
The Handmade smash Burger - was succulent, the Patty was fresh and juicy the bun was soft but sturdy with fresh salad!
The Sherpur Kebab! Wow , this was amazing! To our palate the seasoning was perfect, the portion was just what we expected for a top end restaurant. We were full and had to ask for a box to take away the remainder.
Creamy sherpuri chips - I loved this new concept and I highly recommend you try this.
This is a complete different restaurant to the older Shazans, you could see the main Chef from the viewing window plating the dishes to look like artwork, it’s clear that the chef is full of good taste, the waitresses all in gloves and clean aprons just showed us why the restaraunt deserves the 5 star.
The drinks - the look and taste was defo worth it! I don’t usually order mocktails as they are full of ice and no real drink but if you look at the photos you’ll see how amazing they were.
This is a great family friendly place, we were offered a baby chair, and everyone was so friendly, staff were observant we didn’t need to ask them to come over once, they enquired and asked - ensuring we and the baby all felt comfortable.
We Highly recommend.
