I had a very disappointing and concerning experience with Flakes via Uber Eats -not just once, but twice. On both occasions, my order was unexpectedly cancelled. The first time, I called the shop directly to ask what had happened, and they told me they hadn’t received my order at all. However, the Uber Eats app showed that the restaurant had reported I was the one who cancelled it, which was not true.
At the time, I didn’t think much of it since no money had been taken from my account- just a pending transaction that lasted two days. A few days later, I decided to give it another try and placed an order again. The exact same thing happened: the order was cancelled without explanation.
Out of curiosity, I checked my account and realised that the money from the first cancelled order had now been taken. Because Uber Eats only allows refund appeals within two days and the money had only just come out after being pending, it was too late for me to dispute the charge and get a refund. Thankfully, I was able to recover the money for the second cancelled order, but this process was stressful and avoidable.
What's more worrying is that this same pattern has happened to multiple people I know who’ve tried to order from Flakes. All other restaurants on the Uber Eats platform seem to work just fine, but this specific shop consistently has issues that result in customers losing money without explanation. It feels dishonest and extremely frustrating.
In my opinion, Flakes is a very dodgy establishment and gives the impression of being a total scam. I would strongly advise others to avoid ordering from here, especially through Uber Eats, until these issues are...
Read moreWe went to Flakes because McDonalds ran out of icecream.
Flakes has rubbish service even though there were no customers. Young girls with too much attitude, not even a "your welcome" when I said thank you and not one smile from either girls. The girl with the 'manager' badge kept telling my husband to keep sitting down even though he was trying to settle my toddler.
At the bottom of my 2 year old son's slushi there was specks of dirt that felt like wet, soggy fabric or pieces of paper. Am sure the slush machine has never been cleaned.
The strawberry sundae was horrible. The ice-cream was hard and icey. No effort what so ever in providing quality ice cream. It felt like icecream I buy from the shops.
The cookie dough was ok.
I heard the girl with the 'manager' badge speaking rudely of some guy they work with, where the 'manager' used foul language.
Will never go...
Read moreI used to go to heavenly desserts alot but their menu is too too too sweet. Over the top. Needs toning down. Flakes is less sweeter but they toned it down abit too much. We need that middle ground. Ice cream n shakes need to be a slight more sweeter, just a couple of spoons more. Then they will have the perfect desserts
Also, Seating is absoloutely wrong for a tiny place. Feel cramped in. Can't see anything.
Would've been better if they just had smaller wooden top tables of 2s & 4s set out how they have their seating now with wooden chairs. That way not only you can see everybody n everything in the shop from where you're seating but you don't feel cramped in.
Also they can move these smaller tables around, join them up or separate them apart to cater for larger n smaller parties.
Fix these 2 things n it will be the perfect...
