The new owners are friendly and welcoming. The breakfasts are still very good and after a few teething problems they have improved greatly. The sausages are of good quality and the mushrooms are now grilled which is great. tea and coffee is no longer included with the breakfast but they do offer free refills which I prefer. Much nicer and cleaner venue now.

The cafe is very clean, the food is very good, the service is great, the staff are friendly, in my opinion the prices are reaonable & parking is good, for anyone traveling to Birmingham, give it a visit, i doubt that you will be disappointed

Tasted ok. Took a while to come out and toast seperately delayed. Lacking tomatoes. Just seemed to be tom juice. Chipped plate. Overall it was an OK brekky though. Family run. Seem friendly. Only one piece of toast. Medium brekky 5 pound.

The cafe is uber clean, well staffed and welcoming. While we just had coffee it was of a good standard and we didn't feel rushed. I could see the food being brought out by the waitresses and it was without a doubt plentiful and well presented. The owners and staff are kind understanding and offer outstanding service and we felt quite at home and comfortable. Kind? Well it was our first time in 'Brum' and our motorcycle had broken down at the Wickes car park directly over the road from 'The lodge', after our coffee and the arrival of the 'AA' man the cafe sent a waitress across to offer us all tea or coffee at no charge. We were touched by their kindness and concern especially as we were 'strangers'. Their values and morals were of a by gone era and I would encourage anyone who needs refreshments to engage with 'The lodge'. If decent human beings exist is will be surely...

Be warned, this is NOT a family friendly cafe, it seems that children must sit still, be silent, and not need changing! despite the provision of high chairs, there are no baby change facilities, with the manageress preferring that you use your car (god forbid you haven't walked there, or have a back seat full of car seats) or use the floor of the tiniest toilet in the world with no room to swing a cat, and questionable floor sanitation.

It turns out that she would rather upset and argue with customers in front of other customers than provide effective solutions.

My whole family have been regular visitors to the cafe for number of years, but after today we shall never be setting foot in there again, which is a shame because the food is very nice, but the manageress has no customer facing...

Had a great breakfast the first time, went back a couple of more times and the breakfast was terrible...food came within 5 minutes of order, obviously pre cooked cheap sausages that were deep fried to heat up. Got scrambled eggs on toast second time...terrible. spot the bit of dried scramble bit of egg on two large pieces of bread. No care at all as the staff too busy chatting. Really disappointed as this could be a real little gem but turning into a cheap turn around...
