Frankie and bennys has changed forever! I used to love it at the meridian frankies when I was younger. All the pasta dishes were a big hit with me, gradually falling in love with the burgers and calzones too! The Leicester branch opened and I feel like they never really took off. The atmosphere wasn't great, service was lacking, food was definitely worse. I know to a certain extent that the food changed years back as the fresh pasta and carbonara sauce changed to tinned stuff. But this week we went back for lunch, as the only people in there I thought it might be decent for the price. SHOCKING. I haven't had such a bad meal in years...and from a restaurant that used to have a good name. I realised when entering that the menu had changed completely! It's turned more fast food like, guaranteeing you a full lunch in under 40 mins. The burgers were clearly from frozen and we're thinner than those I have on the bbq at home, the bolognese was non existent with a few chewing balls on top and some limp fries on the side. We complained 4 times in total, first for the wrong order for my partner and how shocking mine was, so they brought me carbonara instead. Even worse, a single leaf of lettuce, no cheese, bacon fat but no bacon, a greasy bun that puts McDonald's to royalty and a paper bag of ten fries. My carbonara was just weeks old spaghetti with cream sauce, no bacon or mushrooms or cheese or chicken. Eventually the deputy manager (his last shift at the restaurant) intervened. I will say this man was excellent at customer service! He put us first, put a hat on and cooked it himself. He tried to explain that the chefs were new but to be honest the food is so gross I think even the best chef would struggle to make it edible. He gave it a good shot and it did come out ten times better than before, I would just never chose to go back to any frankie and bennys again. It's such a shame such a big name has gone so down hill! But my advice is to get a burger from handmade burger, a calzone and pasta...
Read moreFirstly, food was frozen and cooked poorly and cold. To make matters worse, when eating my dessert I almost choked on a human nail. After pulling it out of my mouth, i thought I'd find a piece of plastic, to my shock and horror it was a human finger nail. Immediately, l had informed staff and showed them the human nail I had found in my food. After this the manager took my details and did not charge me for the meal. whilst he was doing this, a lady behind had asked me what's the matter and I told her what had happened. Hearing this, she walked out. I was surprised to see the manager tutting and giving me a funny look. He wasn't taking this seriously, when I asked him to sign the receipt to say why I didnt have to pay, he told me he doesn't have to sign anything and refused. It was clear he was very angry and then he started to say there was no nail in my food. then i was threatened with the police and he called them, so I waited for their arrival to explain matters. Whilst waiting, kitchen staff were extremely unprofessional at my families situation, they laughed carelessly. When officers arrived, I showed the pictures of the disgusting nail I found in my food and the officer was clearly disgusted as they gagged upon seeing it. I have recorded this matter and one of the staff agreed with me that it was a human nail in my food but they can't call it that, they must refer to it as a foreign object. He had also said the manager had the nail in a bag in the office. i will be taking up this matter further because this is vile and disgusting, we couldn't stop being sick .avoid frankie bennys. I feel violated. I have never had this happen a hair understandable but a human nail is absolutely ridiculous...
Read moreEdit: The woman who ‘took care of us’ today I can’t even say did a bad job because she did nothing. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks order taken, while placing said order she tried to charge me £6 for a £1.60 drink that I get no joke 2 time a month minimum, at this and other locations (it is a small drink of lemonade, orange juice, grenadine and ice, no alcohol). Ten minutes later and we still had no sign of drinks or our food order being taken so we left and went elsewhere.
This woman was clearly management and miserable but have not seen her before so perhaps is new or working a shift she does not usually. It was fairly busy in the restaurant for a couple servers and a barman but not so busy that we should have been left waiting almost a half hour with no sign of service or a sorry we’re quite busy tonight it may take longer than usual.

Mariusz took care of us both this time and the last, not only did he save us money suggesting items on the menu but he checked in on us, made sure the food was good and sorted anything that needed to be speedily with no problem. The four stars does not reflect his service but is for past experiences where our dining has not been the best. Food is always a bit hit and miss, but more consistent here than...
