Renu,s Thai Street Food — Restaurant in Blaby

Visited Renu's Thai Street Food on Saturday night with my son. When we arrived, we honestly wondered if we hadn't bumped into the ghost of legendary Dr Who Actor John Pertwee who'd whisked us to ACTUAL Bang Cock! When we walked into the attractive eatery we stunned to be greeted by a fantastic Thai Vibe that included the aroma of bubbling pots of mind blowingly authentic Asian köng gin. We were greeted by the owner who introduced to the temporary but fabulous waitress, Summer and , in the steaming kitchen, his wife and talented Chef, the legendary Renu. It's a set menu (outstanding value for the quality of cuisine on offer) and drinks are delivered by the adjoining Bull's Head Pub with great efficiency and also at a great price! I had the fiery. But delicious prawn soup to start, a spicy liquor bomb, it's crustacean shrapnel really hitting the spot. It was followed by a milder but beautiful beef curry and piquant fried oddles of noodles . Well done. it made a welcome change from the usual Indian . Thoroughly recommend and I haven't even mentioned the breathtaking star-lit ceiling, the first of its kind in Leicestershire, creating a magical ambiance. Been going on and off since it pretty much opened. The food is fantastic and prepared quick and pretty much to order. Service is very friendly and the price point excellent for what's on offer. Try everything, you won't be disappointed, I haven't had a bad dish yet. If I had one gripe it's that the food deserves better wine than the pub next door sells (because the food is that good!) although the service from the pub next door bringing drinks to the table is...
