I’ve been coming to this chippy for a few weeks now, the food varies the chips sometimes taste off cardboard and the pies taste like they’ve been reheated but something that is consistently tasty is the fish. From a customer service point of view, every week I normally have this really nice smiley girl, she was so lovely and while she was a bit slower than the others she was so nice. But for the past two weeks I’ve not seen her and hear she no longer works there. So now I’m served by a girl who looks so sad and down, it’s clear management don’t look after her. But it annoys me because it seems this business is more about the money than there customer service and there staff. They only do take out food despite having a table they can put up as I remember the days of sitting there. They have a high price for some meh food but I went because it’s not to far away and the customer service was really nice. I’m not sure if I’ll return as it was nice to walk through the door and asked how my days was and be met with smiles but it seems things have...
Read moreOrdered ch/m pie, chips, fish cake, battered sausage, mini fish, half fried chicken and curry sauce. Got home mini fish and fish cake missing! Called them up, explained what was missing tbf they said come back to collect it. No apology ! On arrival the owner said the young boy who served you put it in your bag. It must have fell out in your car, have you checked your car ? I thought how rude and embarrassing, like I was trying to try and get a free fish and fish cake. I wouldn’t even waste the petrol ! The food was left on the counter for me to pick up with again no apology ! this is your error, yes you gave us what we paid for and free chips and curry sauce but the service was terrible. When you make a mistake own it and deal with it without blaming the customer who did nothing wrong ! Get a grip guys… you’ll be loosing customers if you don’t buck your ideas up from the state of your reviews, which I’ve only just seen today but I can understand why… disgusting service and attitude. Where’s your integrity...
Read moreMy wife and I had just been to Iceland (The shop, not the place) and thought we'd stop off and get a Fish and Chips to share. The staff we pleasant in serving and we were soon sitting outside in the square in Blaby, sun beaming, and looking forward to our fish supper. The medium Haydock we had was fairly good to be honest and the 'scraps' we'd got to have with the food were OK too. Now, the Chips were completely another story. Biting them, they felt like 'skin-on' Chips (but they weren't), very chewy and stale like. Not sure if it was the potatoes they use of the fat they were fried in, but they were honestly horrible. We threw some for the birds, but none appeared. It wouldn't surprise me if we went back there tomorrow to find that they didn't like them either. After paying £11:20 for a nice small fish and a terrible lump of chips, suffice to say we will most definitely will not...
