First visit to this coffee shop and it will be our last. A Tuesday lunchtime, so not extremely busy yet the staff were so slow. This you can excuse if you're not in a rush, but the other things which occurred cannot be excused. While we were in the small queue we saw a staff member clear 3 tables but she did not not clean any of them. When we sat down to have our coffee and sandwich ( £18 for 2 very average sandwiches and luke warm weak coffees!!) we saw the same female staff member clear another 2 tables again not cleaning them! If this is not bad enough we then saw her put her fingers in her mouth and proceed to pick up muffins from the display cabinets with her bare hands and put them in a box for a customer to take away. Before we left we spoke to a young man who was the manager and detailed what we had seen and the female staff member butted in and denied what we said. The manager basically seemed unable to manage his own staff and we are pretty sure that the food hygiene standards in this coffee shop will continue to fall below legal requirements. This place has the potential to become a profitable business if the employees are more proactive. So slow. Bought 2 still water bottles and waited in excess of 20 min for 5 people ahead of me. To many people working for the same end result in an orchestrated slow motion event. One is pouring the milk, one is doing sandwiches, one is typing the receipt, one is passing the ingredients to the barista. 4 jobs for 4 slow people. No interaction with clients at all, everyone looked today in a bad mood. Finally I got to the till and the question I had was “is that all?” For over 20 min for two water bottles, I dread to imagine how much you wait for other things.
