Went over Xmas with my wife & children. Got sandwiches, two coffees & two hot chocolates. The place was a shambles & no one seemed to know what was going on.
Eventually, I got the food, drinks & a crammed table. My daughter noticed a hair in her whipped cream. My wife took it to the counter & then came back to tell me, "The server is asking where is the hair?" The drink was full, why would you ask where the hair is?? Surely you apologise & replace it?! I pointed it out (poking out the cream) & they replaced it.
I then went to drink my coffee & saw there was fluff & hair all around the rim of the glass. It looked unwashed & completely disgusting. It was like they had put it upside down on the floor.
There was a busser at an adjacent table, I called him over, showed him, he apologised (the only one who seemed to know how to react) & I asked for a new one in a takeaway cup as I had more faith it would be clean. Hopefully they didn't just pour the dirty coffee in it.
Sandwiches were fine but I wouldn't go back. Nasty to have dirt and hairs in drinks & ridiculous to be asked...
Read moreI am a regularl Costa coffee drinker. I have never had an issue. However on this particular occasion the display in which fresh cookies and cakes are stocked was full of flies. Houseflies! I coud see them crawling around and on the food. I spoke to gentleman, at the till telling him about what I could see. His response was shocking! He said" yes we know. We are trying to stop them" and he did nothing else about it. I could see why the flies kept getting in! The big cake dish was positioned so the plastic curtains meant to keep the flies out was wide open! The flies kept coming. It was disgusting! 3. questions..1. Where are the flies coming from? Are hygiene standards being maintained in this Costa re food waste? 2. The attitude the guy at the till showed to a customer concern. Clearly not bothered! 3. Costa seems clearly unbothered by customer feedback. If so why ask???? Very...

I expected it to be busier than usual due to it being half term, but what I didn't expect was to stand at the counter for five minutes whilst the server had a personal conversation with a customer, leaning on the till, not even acknowledging my presence or saying "will be with you in a moment". There was another server cleaning equipment, filling up milk, etc behind her, doing jobs that should be saved for when there isn't a queue of people. Again, not even an acknowledgement or a "sorry to keep you waiting". After five minutes had passed I got annoyed standing and listening to someone's conversation and left to go elsewhere. Won't be going back - absolutely zero...
