Came in hungry, left confused.

My wife and I popped in this morning for what we hoped would be a solid breakfast sandwich, like you used to get from Bennetts before the refit. She went for the bacon and sausage, I opted for sausage and egg. The service? Friendly enough. The food? Also fine — if you've got a gastric band fitted.

Her sandwich had one lonely slice of bacon and half a sausage (okay, one sausage split in two, but still — optics matter). Mine was just one sausage and one egg, like a sad little breakfast duet.

Honestly, I had to double-check I hadn't ordered the "just enough to make you more hungry" special.

Look, we’re not expecting a meat tower, but it’s hard to feel satisfied when your sandwich feels like it was assembled under strict rations. Does a second sausage bankrupt the business? Is there a national bacon shortage we didn’t hear about?

Plenty of other places nearby offering full sandwiches for full-sized appetites. This just isn’t one we’ll rush back to — unless we’re on a diet, in which case it might...

Worst food ever and rude staff. Ordered toast and was given two slices of warm bread spread with margarine when I took it back staff asked me who made it ! How would I know who made it ! Also ordered a breakfast sausages hard and sticky on outside , bacon barely cooked. Ordered a tea and latte , latte was the worst coffee ever and they asked if wanted sugar for the tea which we did and they put it in for you !! Which ended up tea being to sweet and I’ve never been in a cafe before where your not given the sugar to add yourself to your own liking. Would’ve complained again but had already taken toast back and staff not friendly so left our food and drinks and went to Reggie’s next door and had the most amazing coffee and friendly service . Room for improvement, getting parked has become an issue so I go elsewhere if I cant park, refurbishment is great, food and counter selection is not what it was in terms of selection and visual appeal, cake selection seems to have halved. Staff are great and welcoming which is worth going back for the smile, sandwiches are still ok but I think the bread was changed, the barms used to be the best around but not now, prices are great. Would make a nice little Wine Bar for the evenings, better coffee could rival or compete with other places with some small changes.
