Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Borough of Fylde

Been going since it took over Global video about 2006, seen many managers and staff come and go. Been decent service staff in past. Their attitude often reflects the manager. Coffee is one of the best in the area, but current service is the worst I’ve seen. Some are very slow at making a drink, sometimes three staff are in the loudly chatting while customers are waiting, tables often covered in crumbs and liquids that were not cleaned by staff as they would rather chat we had to use their rag to clean it ourselves., sometimes individual staffs use no manners or cold. A new young server scowled at me before asking what I want for no reason, called me a name as I left. I was friendly to her.

Got a cold drink for £5: it was just tap water, ice, powder and a few berries. Had a foam like washing liquid was in it. Put his finger on the inside while using the till to serve the next customer. Never been thanked me for leaving change in tap jar. Stopped tipping.

Often fake homeless sit outside next to tables on private land, begging for booze or spice money. I know they live in flats, and come to constantly...

I'm not normally one to leave poor reviews, but unfortunately, after this afternoons visit, I feel I have no choice. It was raining hard outside, but the place wasn't very busy, maybe ⅓ of the tables were available, however most of these had dirty crockery on and the ones that didn't were almost all in need of a good wipe down. The service was below average to say the least. Having stood at the collection bit of the service area for some time, I eventually had to ask a member of staff, if the drinks on the tray were mine or someone else's order, turns out they were mine, but the young lass.hadnt seen fit to say anything. Although of the 3 staff on duty, she was the only one particularly doing anything. Just as we were leaving, some 15 mins later a staff member started clearing. I think we'll be going back to using one of the independent coffee shops/cafes on the square...

I don't normally leave a negative review but on this occasion it is thoroughly deserved. We have visited this location twice in the last month and wont be going again. Toilets are unclean and no paper, no hand wash, attitude when this was raised was one of total disinterest. Dirty dishes left on most of the tables for long periods without any attempt to remove them and wipe the tables. Dirty cutlery!!. Quality of the drinks served varied on both occasions (not in a good way). Some staff are pleasant others are rude and should not be employed in a customer facing environment.
