Booked a table for two. Arrived 7.30pm. It was cold, we were shown to the table and had a long wait to order despite the fact it wasn't very busy. I was told I could order anything off the menu and it could be made gluten free. Ordered mussels to start which were nice but arrived without bread. I expected gluten free bread with it since she had said they could do anything on the menu gluten free. My husband ordered meatballs which he enjoyed. We waited another half an hour for our main courses, I ordered a medium fillet steak Diane which was as it was described on the menu. It arrived well done and rib-eye not fillet. It was fatty and gristly. The sauce was heavy on the mustard, not a classic Diane sauce. When I was asked at the end of the meal if I enjoyed it I said that I enjoyed the starter but that the steak was very fatty (I had left most of it on the plate and showed her). The staff seemed to close ranks. Arms were folded. The waitress went to speak to another member of staff who was standing by the till and he was just staring over at us. I looked up and smiled but he just continued to stare, unsmiling in our direction! It felt very uncomfortable. Plates were quickly cleared and we were suddenly made to feel distinctly unwelcome. No apology was made for the poor quality meal. We asked for the bill (which took 20 minutes to be brought) to be told they only accept cash. Luckily my husband had enough on him otherwise it would've been a trip to the cash machine. My husband's main course was ok. But I don't expect to pay £21 for a fillet steak when it isn't cooked the way I requested and it is full of fat and rib-eye not fillet. Booked a hen night bottomless brunch here at weekend. Yes we may have been a little rowdy but they knew what they was letting themselves in for with it being a hen do. We got served only around 5 drinks in over an hour, which to say it’s bottomless, wasn’t the best as we was waiting around for ages with empty glasses. The waiter was laughing and joking with us and there seemed to be no problem. They took payment off us around 45 minutes before our 2 hours were up and we all paid £40 each. We was then told that we would not be served any more drinks as we were all “too drunk” we had all had 5 drinks and 2 rounds of shots-which they were keen to serve us when I was paying £40 for a round of shots. I was around £120 out of pocket to not get the full 2 hours booked, refused anymore drinks and have a snotty manager speak to us like children. If we had been spoken to beforehand and asked to tone it down, rather than the waiter laughing and joking with us, we would have done so and there would not have been a problem. Instead, the waiter said their girlfriend had arrived and that’s when the service stopped and we all suddenly became too drunk. Clear, unprofessional behaviour. Considering previous responses and the fact that it cannot be replied to I figured I’d clarify a few things.. we were not once abusive to staff members. Staff members where having a laugh with us and a good time until one of their girlfriends walked in and they said “oh I’m in trouble now” glasses smashed happened after we’d been refused to be served (and all already all paid.. cheeky if you ask me) wasn’t really part of your decision not to serve us was it cos it was after so don’t know why you’re posting that, not one single person had food on their heads (we like our food, wouldn’t have seen us wasting it walking round with it on our heads, be for real) I’d love to know which other customers our party was rude to aswell whilst we’re on it because the other customers we did have interactions with where all lovely and complimented many things about us.. admittedly we did get some £10 vouchers.. not enough to cover all of us though and that was only offered after we’d pointed out how wrong it was to be served only half of our bottomless brunch and then pay before being told we aren’t going to be served anymore.
