Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Borough of Runnymede

The Costa Café in Addlestone and was impressed by its lovely location and the inviting natural light that fills the space. It's a really nice spot to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. However, my experience was marred by an unfortunate interaction with one of the staff members.

While I was waiting in line, the demeanor of one particular staff member was completely unprofessional. As soon as the customer in front of me had placed their order and it was my turn, all the staff seemed to ignore me. There wasn't even a simple acknowledgment like "hi" or "I'll be with you in a minute." It felt as though I was invisible.

When Joseph finally attended to me, it was as if he was doing me a favor rather than providing customer service. His manners were really undesirable. I inquired about other types of food available, but it was clear that neither Joseph nor the other staff were in the mood to attend to customers with basic courtesy, which is especially important in a customer service role.

Although the treatment improved slightly by the end of my visit—with the staff saying goodbye after I thanked them—I found the initial interaction off-putting, I know everyone can have a bad day. I hope that my experience was just a one-off situation and not reflective of their usual...

I really like this Costa. I'm actually sitting in it as I write this. The coffee is good and it's in a good location, but the staff are fantastic. There friendly, funny and very welcoming. There's only ever been a couple of people on when ever I've visited, but nothing seems to be to much. They've shared a joke while I've waited for my order, or been happy to chat as they worked. It's a real nice change to what I'm used to and have visited almost every day I have been here. Have been to many costas and literally tried all the selction Costa have to offer. The chap behind the counter was not engaged and did not make my salted caramel latte the way it should have.
