The Victoria has a very pleasant atmosphere, good parking and the staff were very nice. We were a party of 16 and they were very friendly. We had ordered in advance and it did still take quite a while for food to come - presumably so we could all order drinks - but I was quite hungry by the time we got food. Mine wasn't piping hot (especially the chips) and it took them a long time to sort out sauces, but they did a good job with food allergies / intolerances which is really important! It's a gastropub, so if you're looking for regular pub food you'll struggle here; it's fish and chips or a burger, or something more fancy. Likewise with the puddings, I felt everything had been made unnecessarily fussy. I thought the puddings were a bit overpriced too (over ÂŁ7 each). I imagine for a smaller group things would have been much quicker so perhaps the niggles I experienced wouldn't have been a bother, and as the staff were so nice if you like the look of the menu then go for it. If you're not into gastropub, fancy food then seek an alternative because you will struggle to find traditional pub grub here (in fact, it's becoming increasingly difficult in this part of...

We arrived this evening at 19:30, we was seated straight away, the staff asked if we would like any drinks, she recommended a bottle of water but we waited to order more drinks but was never asked. One of the staff came over took our food order, starters and mains, but didnt ask if we wanted anymore drinks, so we had to flag down to order drinks. We asked if we could move to where the smoking area was. The starters came out with in half an hour, we then waited over 1hr and 15 mins for our starter to be taken, then we had to ask where our mains where, we askes 2 staff members and they said they would check. Our mains finally come out at 12:20pm. The tuna salad was ordered by one of our party and it come out raw. We then waited over 10 mins for a staff to come back and we explained the tuna salad was not cooked. We then ordered a bowl of chips which only took 5 mins to arrive at our table. The service was shockingly bad and the customer service was worse. We was not even offered a pudding menu or coffee. Would not recommend to anyone...

A wonderful evening.

My wife and I, accompanied by two other couples, recently spent a memorable evening at this new Italian restaurant. We enjoyed an extra bonus as the three husbands could enjoy an excellent couple of pints of Doombar real Ale, served by our host Peter Court, who proudly displays the ‘Cask Marque Award’ for his real ales. The restaurant 'Front of House' is in the very capable hands of Peter's Italian wife Angela and her very able and friendly waiting staff. The food was superb and authentic Italian from their chef, Lucio whom, I understand, was previously a chef at the Trevi Restaurante, West Byfleet. An excellent menu plus house specials was complimented by an equally appealing Wine List. After chatting with Peter and Angela, we learned that they have achieved a very high accreditation for the cleanliness of their kitchens, which is always very re-assuring. We will certainly...

I had a delightful lunch with my mum recently, where I indulged in a delicious beef burger accompanied by some incredible chips and onion rings. My mum opted for the fish board, and we were both thoroughly impressed with our meals. The pub itself was charming, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made our experience even more enjoyable. To top it all off, they allowed me to bring my adorable little dachshund along, who is named Chipolata. The staff were so kind that they even chipolata sausage on the the menu for bar snacks and I didn’t want a whole Portion so allowed me to have half a portion It was such a lovely touch. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, and I can't wait to return for another wonderful meal!

Lovely waiters and service experience. The food however let this place down massively. We waited a long time for our food (we didn't grumble) we were happy to be here. :-) when it came the chips were soaked in oil and tasted rather old. My daughter could barely touch hers as it made her stomach turn. Her burger was OK. My husbands fish and Chips..and mine were over done (Sooo much) again the chips were deathly oily. My fish was dry as a bone! My sisters Chicken Roast was good. Dessert is where they excel! Sticky toffee pudding and Brownies! The star of the show. Hats off to the chef here. Clearly that his gigg. Overall, sadly an underwhelming experience. It's very hit and miss at The Victoria. Lovely place tho!

Don’t usually leave negative reviews. However think this needs to be brought to others attention. Visited for a Sunday Roast recently. Lovely pub. Staff seemed friendly and helpful however the food was certainly not up to the standards you would expect. Chipolatta sausage on my roast was not Cooked properly. The sausage was cold and very red in the middle and even had blood drip when cut into it. Spoke to the manager who didn’t seemed overly bothered about it. Just brought me another sausage over. Sausages should be cooked to 74 degrees and it was clear that this wasn’t the case. I’d be very interested to hear if you probe all your cooked meat and what food safety processes you have in place?!
