It has been 23 years since I have been home to Gubbio in Italy. It is a sad fact that as time inevitably progresses, memories fade in the same fashion. I was losing touch with the sights, smells, tastes and essence of my home, my heart. As I trudged out of the Armstrong Gun (another great establishment), after drowning my sorrows over my waning cultural identity, I stumbled upon The Village Pizza. Would not recommend this place . We live quite locally to this shop and we thought we would order a pizza . We ordered a large plain chicken pizza , large pepperoni mixed pepper pizza and a garlic and cheese pizza medium . Called through for delivery as we was self isolating and they had the cheek to charge £40 . We thought this was very bizarre as we ordered 2 large pizza a week before and it was only £23 delivered. Not sure how a medium garlic pizza would cost £17 . When we queried it they said okay £35 and then said angrily what do you want to pay ! I honestly can’t believe they dream up a price and just hope customers will pay . This was the last time we bothered with this shop as previous orders have been messed up before . Ordered a chicken pizza and received a pepperoni pizza an hour later than expected. Called them and said you have to wait another hour or more but it’s free. I’ve already paid Uber eats for the delivery. So I don’t get my refund from Uber eats as they have done their job. Village pizza says they have only one delivery driver and the pizza will be delivered when they can. Three hours later I’m in bed eaten and ready to sleep.
