Storia Shepperton — Restaurant in Borough of Spelthorne

Last night my wife and I fancied an Italian meal and checked the Storia Shepperton website. On the homepage and the pull down menu it mentions '20% OFF TAKEAWAY' and repeats it at the top of the food menu. I called the restaurant and ordered two mains and a side of fries , and offered to pay but was told I could pay on collection. When my wife went to collect the food she was told it was £42 which was the same as the eating in restaurant price. When she queried the price she was told that the discount only applied to on-line orders and 'that's the way it is here'. The food itself was not good. The chicken was fine but the pasta on each meal had no sauce so the spaghetti was a dry claggy tangled lump that need a knife and fork to eat. The fries portion was very small but they were ok. The website should say '20% OFF TAKEAWAY FOR ONLINE ORDERS' to make it clear. The man who took the telephone order should have mentioned this to allow me to make the order online, and his attitude should have been more friendly to my wife. Why there is an £8 difference in price between a computer order and a telephone order is beyond my comprehension. The restaurant can not justify full price for takeaway when there is no table service needed. Overall the website needs revision, the prices are too high, the food quality should improve, and the customer service should be better. My wife and I, and all of our extended family, will not be visiting Storia again...

Went to Storia in Shepperton for a birthday lunch with the family in late August. From the moment we arrived, one could tell this was a brilliant restaurant. The greeting upon arrival, the warmth to myself and children, was something to behold... the likes you'd expect from meeting up with family!

The atmosphere was great, we took our time to order our starters and it was well worth the wait. Special shout out for the Nduja prawns starter... sensational!

The mains lived up to the expectations from someone that had referred us - generous portion sizes, gorgeous flavours and all wonderfully presented! Seafood is my go-to so I am naturally extra critical. No chance to be so with the Rigatoni Frutti di Mare - wonderful flavours, good range of seafood and great ratio of seafood to pasta - compliments to the chef for nailing it!

Desserts are something to behold - the Lotus Cheesecake and Nutella Pizzette (worth sharing if your dessert stomach is half full) were phenomenal in their own right. The cheesecake was light, packed with delicious flavours and excellent portion-size. The pizzette did the sharing rounds at the table and was met with unanimous approval.

Suffice to say, we had a brilliant time - food was great, atmosphere was superb and the team hosting/serving us were exemplary. It won't be very long at all until we're back visiting again! Thank you Frida and team - much...

We had a fantastic experience at Storia! This was our first time coming and we will definitely be back soon. The waitresses were very friendly and accommodating. We were served by Charlie who had a big smile throughout our experience. We had the soup and calamari which was a reasonable price and a good sized portion. We also had the carbonara and the steak which was delicious and very appetising. Most of all the atmosphere of Storia enhanced the experience because it had a cosy and lively feel. Ever since it opened it has been busy, and although that was the case when we went we found that the service was incredibly fast. For a fairly new restaurant Storia is doing so well! I can’t wait to see how the restaurant grows in the future and wish it the best of luck as it is a lovely addition to shepperton...
