Same gravy served with any roast dinner!!! We were 4 people, all ordered a roast for Sunday lunch. Our food arrived and it looked fabulous. However, after my first mouthful I had to stop, realising that a lamb gravy was served with my pork belly roast! My sister and I don't eat lamb, and therefore are very sensitive to its particular taste. The waitress was very nice and apologetically went to find out if this was an unfortunate mixup. The chef had confirmed it wasn't a lamb gravy but a gravy mix (from any roast)!!! How odd. Why would anyone serve mixed gravy? People not eating pork - watch out, as you will be served gravy that is partly from roast pork. On top of that, the message from the chef was that if we wanted (roast pork with NO gravy, which we did) we had to wait till all the tickets (people who came after us) have cleared, then we would get our meal. That's, in fact what happend. 30ish min later, our pork arrived and it was nice but dry (no gravy), our friends had long finished their roast beef and were now watching us eat or meal as we watched them at them beginning. Felt like a punishment. It actually added a negative note to the whole experience.
No one I had spoken to since, has ever heard that roast gravy is mixed. It is such a shame, as the rest was delicious. I will never dear to order a roast again at the Bell Inn. What else is being...
