Exorbitantly priced ‘extras’. Live locally so do use local businesses if at all possible. Called in for brunch with my wife for one omelette, a tuna panini and two flat whites - £32.50!
On querying the bill it became apparent the helpful “would you like a bit of everything in your omelette “ actually involved £2 per extra in what was a very moderately sized omelette meaning its cost was double the menu price. Add £1.50 for a spoonful of diced tomatoes and cucumber and £2 for four slices of sauté potato (not constituting even half a whole spud) and you arrive somewhere around the final bill. We visited today Sunday 1st September, on possibly one of the busiest days of the year (Faversham hop festival). The staff were polite, helpful and very accommodating, nothing was to much trouble.
The cappacinos were hot and great tasting, we both had jacket potatos, one Tuna and one Prawn, both came with side salad, which was crisp, fresh and plenty of and homemade colslaw, at £9.95 they were great value for money.
Hazel and Peter run a lovely cafe in a beautiful historic town, their staff are outstanding. I would recommend the Guild Cafe to anyone visiting Faversham, keep up...
Read moreYesterday, my husband and I had lunch at this cafe for the first time. We were immediately impressed with the professionalism of the staff. They were very welcoming, knowledgeable re their menu and products and nothing appearing to be too much trouble. The quality of the food was very good for the reasonable price. The cafe being very clean, light and airy with pleasant, but not too loud, background music. Unfortunately we don't live in this part of the country otherwise we would be regular customers. One of the owners, who introduced herself as Hazel, to ensure the food etc was all we wanted it to be, was very pleasant. We would definitely recommend this cafe and would...
