Only one thing we ordered came as stated on the new menu! Starters wings and ribs to share Deep fried wings and ribs NOT tossed in BBQ sauce and NOT sprinkled with chives. Main Surf and turf NOT served with grilled tomato, NOT served with any mushrooms. Steak was cook perfectly, scampi could benefit from a slice lemon. Mac and cheese with popcorn chicken No added cheese and NOT topped with chives Pudding Rocky road Sunday!! NO marshmallows, NO chocolate ice cream served in what looks like a small tumbler and for some reason rainbow sprinkles were all over it!! Nothing at all like advertised! Expressed to staff that it is not what we ordered and he walked away saying it is the same as the menu just in a different glass! Sticky toffee pudding with pouring cream THIS IS EXACTLY AS EXPECTED AND TASTED GREAT. *answer to your response * You may want to pride yourself in that way but on my visit there was nothing to be proud of at all! No customer service provided even when I did manage to get attention from the young male member of staff he was very rude as he just walked away dismissing my complaint! A male and female that live upstairs (I assume to be the owners or managers) did come down while I was there and were talking to staff at the other end of the bar to where we were. I know our complaints were discussed while we were still there as I could hear him being asked what was wrong? yet all that happened was, not one person came anywhere near the area we were sitting until we left! It was completely ignored and snubbed. Just short of £6 for what looked like a child’s scoop of ice cream in a tumbler is appalling. I guess this is what happens when you pay before eating, that way you already have customers money so it doesn’t matter what you do or in this case do not do from that point on. Chef needs to learn the menu Staff need customer service training. Managed need to open their eyes and see what’s happening in front of them. I should get the same service at the end of the day as the first person of the day! All customers should get the same attention no matter what time of day. So I would not accept that it was the end of a busy day.

Started with drinks... A coke and a pint of Hobgoblin. Barman drew up the beer like it was his first pint, nearly full but with a 2 inch head. Started on the coke, it's Pepsi, okay... Then starts putting Pepsi Max in a glass. Woah... I don't like Pepsi Max I want an ordinary one so roots through the fridge and gets a Pepsi out. I didn't think too much of it and went to get a carvery, more on that later. When we get back the beer has settled and missed the top of the glass by an inch so asked them to top it up. First mouthful bleugh... Off beer. So they get me a pint of something else, then noticed the Pepsi bottle was a Pepsi Max, even though I specifically asked for a normal one. Told the bar staff and they said they don't do the ordinary stuff and more.... Seriously? And then it turns out the guy that pulled the pint has worked there for ages and I thought ahhh it's his first day. Carvery... The guy on the carvery was very nice but can't carve for toffee. Slices of meat half inch thick I kid you not, have a look at the photo. Veg left to dry out under the heat lamps and empty tins with a couple of remnant bits of cauliflower in it. Gravy like brown water topped it off nicely. This isn't the first time it's been like this, last time we went we had to bin a vodka and coke because nobody said they were using Pepsi Max, then a replacement was sent still undrinkable with Pepsi Max but in a dirty glass. It was only then we worked out they were using Pepsi max but couldn't be arsed by then. Somebody today took a glass back to the bar because it was cracked. Going to phone Marstons in the morning.

Overall a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. Our cutlery and glasses where rather clean which is good to see, the overall layout is visually pleasing, yet simple enough to navigate with ease, and the environment was very relaxed and down to earth, with friendly staff and well balanced music! The food we ordered was for the most part exceptional, of which being the hunters chicken (£8.25), which was quite possibly the best balance of flavours I've experienced in a while, the sausage and mash (£8.25) which was a good portion size with a slight exclusion of the mash, which was a bit small, but the sausages where nice and tender with no fat or grissle, and the cowboy burger (£11), which had a nice size and flavour, while being pretty juicy with a good portion of fries! The deserts (both the tart and crownie served with a scoop of ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate sauce) we ordered where the chocolate praline tart (£5), which was a nice smooth, yet nutty texture and flavour, the chocolate crownie (£5.75) which was basically a chocolate lava cake with a cookie dough crust, which was served nice and warm, being creamy and sweet, but not overwhelming. The only thing that was a small flaw was the wait of about 40 minutes, but in the end it was all worthwhile for the very fairly priced, filling meal, aswell as the friendly staff and overall clean environment! Overall I'd rate this experience a 4.6/5 and highly recommended, as we will definitely be returning!

Absolutely disgraceful. Called and booked a table for 10 on 8th July, after calling ahead to confirm we’d be a bit late (which wasn’t an issue at all) we arrived to an empty restaurant. We ordered drinks, starters, main meals anatd kids meals within 10 miarrived around 7:15pm) Our orders consisted of burgers, a curry, a steak & ale pie and a gammon. Kids orders were all chicken dippers x4. The first problem was that when x2 of the kids meals arrived with what appeared to be 1/2 eaten cucumbers & soaking wet (had to give them back), our starters arrived in a timely fashion but the mains seemed to take a decade. At 8:12 we noticed that there was no sign of our food so we asked how long it was going to be, we were told by a gentleman (who turned out to be the deputy manager) that the food would be out in “5 mins”, at this point we were fine, thought “there’s a few of us so it’s cool”. 15 minutes passed and our food still hadn’t arrived, we asked the woman behind the bar how long until our food would arrive, she said “they’re just plating it up, it should be about 5mins max”….another 15 mins passed and our food still hadn’t arrived so we asked again where our food was, again, we were told it was just coming” surprise surprise our food didn’t arrive. We started to ask where our food was and why it was taking so long, the deputy manager arrived from the kitchen to say “they were sorting it and it would be about 5 mins” at this point we’d given up and demanded full refunds (didn’t give us refund on our drinks) - thought they’d do it but it’s fine. What shocked me was their attitude and customer service, and from someone who delivers customer service I’d recommend they step their training up. I would’ve been happy if they were honest if there was issues in the kitchen or if the chef waa delayed, we would’ve been fine with that. But to be told continuously “5 mins” and that it’s being “plated” was a joke. I’m definitely not going back to this establishment. Just be a bit cautious of timings and how long your...

We arrived about 15.30 on a Saturday and went to find a table. There were very few customers in at the time which we thought was odd at that time of day on a Saturday. The section we went to had 6 tables, 4 of which had piles of crockery and waste from previous customers, we sat at the only clean table available in that area, the chairs were all very tatty looking with red plastic covered seat pads that were worn on all edges showing the white material of the underside.

Never the less we placed our order and waited and waited, while waiting we noticed how filthy the carpet looked. After fifty minutes or so we went to check at the bar, only to be told "We told you there was an hours wait for food". Sorry but we were not told that, had we been told we would have politely declined and gone elsewhere.

Moments before the food did finally arrive, someone came out and cleared 2 of the other tables, the waitress (that being the person who had served us at the bar) bought out the food and said "who's is the Lasagne". We hadn't ordered Lasagne, none of us like Lasagne so there is no way we would have ordered it but she refused to accept it was her mistake. This was taken away only to be bought back out again a few minutes later with the same waitress saying that we must have ordered it.

By now we've had enough and demanded our money back and went to the Jenny Wren in Sittingbourne where we had the perfect meal, served in 15 minutes despite the restaurant being extremely busy with almost all the tables being occupied or reserved. We also noticed how quickly the tables were cleaned shortly after customers had completed their meal and left.

Five Bridges ... no thankyou ... never again ... Jenny Wren ... brilliant ... no problem.

P.s. The 1 star given for sevice =...
