Liked the look of this place so gave it a try early on a Saturday evening. Aware it was a bar/restaurant, I though we might be OK to grab a quick family meal before the Poulton mafia arrived... I was wrong. At 6pm on a Sat, this place is 95% bar and 5% restaurant. A terrible sound system with way too much bass ensures that you can't converse with anyone without shouting. Online, the food looked appealing and delicious, it looks that way when it arrives too. Unfortunately, this food is a classic example of style over substance. Of our three meals, all three patties were bone dry and lacking any seasoning. The huge slab of hard chorizo on my burger was surprisingly tasteless and quite challenging. The halloumi brought nothing to the party at all, not even the usual squeaky teeth. The buns, although fancily branded with the Tipsy Cow logo, were dry and tasted like a gluten-free product. Three positives: one of the waitresses was helpful and polite, the coke was cold and the fries were tasty. Save yourself £30 and get a better burger at Mcdonalds. Yes, you may be surrounded by teenage chavs while you eat that, but you'll only be surrounded by their older siblings...
Read moreThe tipsy cow burger, soo dry. Wasn't nice at all. Myself and wife found a table and sat down. A couple of minutes later, a young lady approached us and told us the table we were sat at was reserved and we only had 40 minutes before they came in. No reserved sign was in the table, but ok fair enough. We decided to move to another table just so we didn't have to rush and leave the table free. We moved to a two seat table. We sat down a d began to read the menu, and literally 2 minutes later, the same lady came to our table and placed a reserved sign on our table, so again we were rushed. Also a few minutes later another group entered the place and sat at our original table and the lady didn't approach them at all. Such rude service....
Read moreThe atmosphere was really nice, good service from the staff and ridiculously friendly door staff (which is rare when I’m from) my friend had the no chicken tonight burger which was great.
I ordered the pulled pork loaded fries which were lovely for a few bites but became very sickly, and the pork was a bit fatty for my liking. Both of these critiques are completely personal and no fault of the restaurant themselves (some people may not mind a bit of fat on their meat)
Nonetheless I gave the feedback as I barely ate any of it. The chef came out immediately and apologised then taking it off of the bill. It’s service like that which brings people back 100% we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves....
