Cafe Regal — Restaurant in Bradford

Went for lunch in the afternoon with my husband and son. The service and food was really good. So decided to take our daughter on her 19th birthday for breakfast, unfortunately the service and the food was the opposite in the morning. The waiter was very rude. We sat near the window but the sun started to shine right on us and made it impossible to sit there. When asked can we sit on another table, the reply was given very rudly that he has no time to clean another table. Which took us by shock, however determined not to ruin our daughters bday my husband just said whenever you get time brother we will wait. Giving the benefit of doubt maybe it was just one of them days we went again yesterday morning. This time it was just me and my husband. We felt cold as soon as we walked in. We saw some electric heaters scattered and people were on them tables. Was told by a lady waiter to go to glass area heating working there, as soon as we got there another waiter said no heating working here go inside. Went back inside and again the waiter tried sending us back there. We sat down but it was still very cold. We waited until the people left who were sat next to the heater and asked if it's okay to sit next to the heater. Saw the waiter go up to the lady waiter and mumble something in her ear then she shouted to say stay where you are we don't have time to clean the table. At that moment we decided not to give them benefit of the doubt anymore, it seems they are just plain rude. It was not only what they said but the way they said and treated us for the two days. We understand they are busy but all this can be said politely with a smile. We left and went to Mugal and the staff there greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome. Do not ever make the mistake of booking a desserts table with Regal. Booked a desserts table with Cafe Regal for my brother's Mendhi, was assured not to worry as they would set the table up and decorate it all nicely. We had ordered a variety of desserts such as Oreo cheesecakes, Strawberry cheesecakes, Chocolate mousses, Trifles, chocolate eclaires, jelly shots and cupcakes. However this was not the case, we was advised all this would arrive to the mendhi venue for 5pm however it was after 7pm and there was still no sign of receiving the desserts or the mendhi cake which we also ordered from Regal. Then after ringing various times we find out they had delivered it to the wrong wedding venue which was next door and some items were also missing and not only that we did not even receive the items we had placed an order for. We had just received the chocolate eclairs and way too many cupcakes which we had only placed an order for 6. We received some mouses which looked absolutely disgusting, they were so horrible looking, looked like as if they were half eaten and made by little kids, not appealing at all, looked like a joke. It was embarrassing instead. That's exactly how they looked. There was no trifle, jelly shots or cheesecakes as promised. They did not deliver to expectation and was also very late. They had also given us the wrong designed Mendhi cake, we ordered something different. We had high hopes of them doing a brilliant job and setting up the table elegantly as promised by one of the staff members at Regal but this was all just a false misrepresentation and one big lie it was not worth the money. Really bad experience with these people, I've ordered my engagement cake from them in June, they got the flower colour wrong. I asked for ivory and they put light green. It didn't bother me much because it was an engagement cake. I had to go back and order a cake for my wedding, the reason why I had to order it from regal is because of allergy issues in the family and this is the only place we've tried that they can have. Ordered a 2 tier naked tall cake with white and maroon colour, really simple and showed and sent a picture to them. Went in again 2 days before my wedding to make sure they got the order right because it was really important to me as it was my wedding cake. When I saw the cake I was in shock of how it looked. Plus it had some staining onto the cream which I couldn't even fix there and then. Went back to them 2 weeks after after wedding the women that works there was so rude. I explained to her the problem and I told her that I've sent her the pictures of how I want it she started laughing and said are you here for this? We can't do anything for you. I insisted to talk to the manager, she told me to ring after 3 which I did. A guy called omar said he will look into it and give me a call back. Its been 2 weeks and still nothing.
