When to Flying Squirrel today for lunch after church service with my dear Sister. It is a place I do like going because the staff are friendly, so helpful and it is a warm, cosy and accessible place for me being a permanent wheelchair user. Today one of the staff member that I had not met before was exceptional in her delivery of service to me today, and her name is Kelly. Whilst Kelly was serving a customer in front of me, I was next on the queue to be served but another staff said who's next? Someone else jumped in before me and Kelly stepped in to tell her colleague that I was next. I did offer to wait and when Kelly was free and served me, she apologised and after taking my order and payment, Kelly looked after my Sister and I on our table throughout whilst doing other things, making sure we were alright and the food was OK for us. Kelly was quick to respond to my 'excuse me' when we needed some things on our table, and she helped to make sure I wrapped my remaining sweet potato fries very well and turned it into a takeaway. As I said before, all the staff are so friendly and caring, good customer service and attention to detail. I remember Michele bringing our food to our table and she made sure we had all we needed at the time before she lift, Kelly just stood out exceptionally, the way she stood up for me and made me feel comfortable throughout my duration at Flying Squirrel really made the whole experience more beautiful. Thank you Kelly, God bless you, and just as you valued me as an individual and made me feel important, God will value you, remember you and make you fruitful, in Jesus name...

The reason I am giving it 2 star's is because the waiting staff are very pleasant and the pub has a friendly atmosphere, however the food is dismal, when it first opened it was good. I went with my partner soon after it's opening and she had the carvery which left a bit to be desired but I had the fish and chips which was excellent so I went soon after with my sister and both had the fish and chips, and again it was lovely, then, went again with my partner one evening she had the fish and chips and I had the gammon, both were less than good 😔 but gave it the benefit of the doubt and went back one evening with the grandchildren and my partner, I chose the rack of ribs and was absolutely discusted, the ribs and corn cob were clap cold and the Cole slaw tasted off, so I sent it back and was given a refund and another meal which came out exactly the same as the first meal, needless to say I left it, was told by the assistant manager that I would get a call from the manager the following day after giving my contact information, nobody got in touch 😤 and lastly I was treated to the father's Day breakfast ! The eggs were hard and rubbery the sausage were well over cooked and my'n came missing the hash browns, also when ordering the coffee was pointed towards the bottomless cup offer leaving out the fact it was catering instant coffee, and not very good and more expensive than the filter coffee which would have been enough. So overall I won't...

APPALING SERVICE!! BOYCOT!!

I had a booking last Saturday afternoon hoping to celebrate my birthday with my partners family Only to be utterly disappointed!!

The meat for the carvery was down to the last dry thin cut! Only 2 meats to chose from at this point! I was in the queue for the carvery and noticed how poor and how little left there was to go around! There were 8 of us wanting a carvery meal and 2 other families behind me also paid for their food before making their way to the queue. Why take peoples money if you knew there would not be enough food to feed these customers?

Very poor communication and service!

A way around this would have been to stop serving carvery food and show us the main menu to make our food selections! This didn't happen! Instead we recieved rude service from the bar team who pointed us to the "manager" to sort it out! Customer service tips are definitely needed there!

This did spoil the evening! Members of our table travelled a few miles to see members of the family and have a good time!

I hope communication and service improves in the future however I will now be boycotting this venue due to this appalling experience!

I have tried emailing twice to that email you sent on your response however I have not heard anything!

You're really not doing your business any favours with this lack of customer care!!

Please respond if you take customer feedback...

I don't know why I keep going back, convience I suppose or it's a form of self harm, but each time it just gets worse. Once I went for Sunday dinner when it first opened and it wasn't too bad, although it is not comparable to Tobys, which is superior in every way. I then went for Eat Out to Help Out and it was busy, was nothing left that I wanted so had to order a Sunday dinner but when it came it had no meat? After complaining I had to wait 45mins for them to bring out meat. When it did arrive it was the scrappings from the trays and my dinner had gone cold and my friends had all eaten. Although we did complain and was offered a free meal overall the service and experience was shoddy. I didn't want to go back but was convinced by my sister as she was hungry one day whilst out shipping with the kids. On this final occassion I ordered a burger and some chicken nuggets for my daughter, both of which had been re heated / refried and were dry. The chips were the same you could honestly break your teeth on them. I didn't even bother complaining as the whole experience last time was draining. Will not be making the same mistake ever again and I advise others not to go. The food is extremely poor and service is horrendous. Stay clear!

Went today when it had just opened. It was quiet, which was perfect for us. The food took a short while to arrive but was worth the wait. I ordered the lasagne, which comes with garlic bread and salad. The lasagne was delicious. Unfortunately the garlic bread had definitely not seen the oven and the salad was limp and brown. Fortunately for us the staff member on duty was fantastic, she apologised, offered a fresh meal and when I said there was no need she offered free drinks or free dessert as compensation. It would have been 5 stars if not for this slight problem, which was fixed quickly.

The food was delicious, super light and easier to finish in comparison to Toby's Carvery for example. Great veg selection, and a pretty straight-forward service. As this was my first time at Marstons, the lady (Alison) was super friendly, polite, and helpful and explained how the service worked to me. The only downfall was the environment amongst other customers, they were constantly staring which made me quite uncomfortable - however I understand that this can't be controlled by the business. Overall, I would recommend and come back again at some point ☺️
