Best karpanka we've ever eaten! No exaggeration either. Popped in on Saturday, as a friend wanted to pick up some bread and ended up buying doughnuts, karpanka and some seeded rye bread for myself lol. Doughnuts were soft and fresh, we could taste the Nutella inside too, the custard ones were sliced and filled with lots of custard. The rye bread was fresh and was still moist inside after 3 days, I don't really eat bread, but I've nearly finished half the loaf already. Now, where do I start with the karpanka, I could not fault if I tried, everything from the pastry to the cream filling to the freshness to the taste was amazing. The young lady who served us spoke fluent english and polish and was so polite. Parking is a slight issue, so we parked on Beamsley Road. Prices are not cheap, but are worth it for the quality of the products this bakery sells. This has got to be one of the best bakeries in town, this place is that good! It's just a shame, its quite far from the city centre, but the 10 minute drive was worth it. I'll definitely get my bakery products from here from now on and highly recommend this gem of a bakery. Well done to the team at...
Read moreThis was my first time trying this small but perfectly formed bakery. There was a small queue out of the door.
Once inside my eyes nearly popped out of my head. Blackcurrant doughnuts with marzipan glaze, also some with with cream and custard and others plum jam!
They had honey cake!, poppy seed cake, apple tart and peach meringue cheesecake amongst other delights.
I was chatting to the very pleasant folk in front of me and the young man handed me a bag with 3 loaves of bread in. "These, are yours, I've paid for you." There was a rye with sunflower and pumpkin seed, wheat and rye, and white.
I was flabbergasted! That was such a beautiful act of kindness. I think I just stood with my mouth open, looking a right wally.
After I'd gathered myself together and the couple had left I did pass one of the loaves to the lady behind me and bought a cheesecake.
The staff were a delight too. What a great shopping experience.
I am now replete with bread and butter. Blimey that white bread is divine. Just with...
Read moreLovely quaint little bakery bake the most lovely bread. I follow UPF diet as much as I can so used to buy bread from supermarket freshly baked section but I was paying nearly £3 and still the bread wasn't as nice and nearly as big as theirs! Here you get big beautifully baked loaves for a very decent price. I also had a coffee which was amazing and there was lovely cakes too which I had to stop myself from having. They also had bread rolls, savoury buns and small selection of sandwiches. They do sourdough pizza too, have extra virgin olive oil and a small selection of speciality flour and some coffee and honey. Very impressed and definitely will be my regular spot for my bread top up...
