Authentically inspired and Italian-founded, this place captures the essence of the fast paced, energetic urban Italian coffee house and crosses it with the best of friendly Yorkshire hospitality and mayve even some cheeky banter thrown in.

If you want a great, well-priced latte and to feel like an old, familiar friend, this is certainly a place for you.

Tip du jour... warmed pain au raisin are fabulous but go straight for toasted pannetone...

Personal favourite - known as 'the usual, squire?' - the early morning (but why restrict yourself) bacon roll and a large latte. No finer way to start the day and these guys start early too...

Or a cracking crisp bacon, hard boiled egg, fresh tomato panini - full of authentic flavour - even with a splash of tabasco!

There's a busy cafe indoors and a station-front patio furnished with umbrellas and a partial glass shelter for those lunatics brave enough to refuel for the day al fresco, rain or shine. All seasons. Yes... in Wharfedale some of us are completely barking.

Street parking around the area offers a complimentary hour and then a quid an hour after that. And La Stazione, quite cleverly, is in the Stazione complex at Ilkley, so a prime pit stop for commuters and travellers in and out.

Also fully licenced for a cheeky beer, aperol spritz, or some other intoxicating treat, as if it were not enough, simply, to be drunk on the cheery energy...

Having completed a walk along the riverside and round the park what else is there to do but go for a bite to eat? Ilkley has a wide choice of eateries but one we visit regularly is La Stazione. It is a popular choice and for good reason. Friendly service combined with great snacks and a good position to watch the world walk by.
