Refreshment Room cafe — Restaurant in Bradford

If wandering around Manningham Park the RefreshmentsRoom café is a great resource to pop into.

The staff are very welcoming and ready to serve anyone who pops in. There is a selection of cakes, sandwiches and a few other items to fill that gap as well as a selection of drinks, hot or cold.

We have found it a valuable asset when walking our dog throughout the winter months (well, it has been rather wet) as dogs are made welcome. A great cup of coffee and a bite to eat cheers up a dog walker...

The cafe looks ok, but the customer before us found mould in the cake she'd just bought and the milk was off for our cups of tea. The two members of staff seem willing but inexperienced. The customer with the mouldy cake even had to tell them that she expected her money back, as it didn't seem to have struck them that they needed to give her a refund. This is a lovely building with great exhibitions in a beautiful park. Come on cafe managers - you can do...

I ordered the quiche which was presented warm, as I like it. My sister came 10 mins later and ordered the same meal. Her quiche was cold, so she kindly asked for it to be warmed. She was told it would take 20 mins, which was unusual as mine was ready in a few mins.

After heating the quiche (which didn’t take 20 mins in the end), my sister was presented her food alongside an unnecessary snarky comment.

Poor service and small...
