My girlfriend and I decided to celebrate her 21st birthday at a restaurant that had received glowing recommendations from friends and online reviews. We were excited to enjoy a special evening together, but our experience quickly took a troubling turn. Upon our arrival, I made it a point to inform the server about my severe nut allergy, a condition that I take very seriously. The server reassured me that the kitchen adhered to a strict "nut-free" policy, which provided me with a sense of relief and allowed us to relax and enjoy the festivities.
However, my relief was short-lived. When my curry arrived, I was horrified to discover a pistachio nestled within the dish. This oversight could have resulted in a serious allergic reaction had I not noticed it in time. The incident raised immediate concerns about the restaurant's claim of being nut-free. If they truly maintained such a policy, how could a nut have made its way into my meal?
It is absolutely imperative for restaurants to meticulously scrutinize the ingredients used by their chefs, especially when they promote a nut-free environment. As I perused the menu, I was taken aback to find items like a pistachio and almond milkshake listed among the offerings. This blatant contradiction to the assurance I had received about the absence of nuts in the kitchen not only undermined the restaurant's credibility but also posed a significant risk to customers with similar allergies. The lack of a comprehensive allergen menu on the restaurant's website, which merely suggested consulting the staff for information, further exacerbated my concerns about the safety protocols in place.
To add insult to injury, I found it deeply unsettling to be met with skepticism regarding my allergy. The server's tone suggested that I might have been exaggerating or even dishonest about my condition, which was both frustrating and disheartening. This experience has left me with a profoundly negative impression of the establishment. What was intended to be a joyous celebration for my girlfriend turned into a distressing situation that overshadowed her special day.
In light of this experience, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this restaurant to others. It is crucial for dining establishments to prioritize customer safety and ensure that their claims about food preparation are not only accurate but also reliable. A commitment to transparency and thoroughness in handling food allergies is essential in fostering trust and ensuring the well-being of all patrons.
I hope that this incident serves as a wake-up call for the restaurant to reevaluate its practices and take the necessary steps to protect...
Read moreNormally order without issue, this time I preordered food online, order confirmed by email and payment taken from my bank but when no food arrived at the stated delivery time (45 minutes after the restaurant opens) and no email confirmation saying it had been sent. I waited 15 minutes past the time it stated and then decided to call up and chase the order. When I called up in case it had been forgotten, I was told they would look into it, and then someone hung up on the phone on me.
I waited a few minutes in case the restaurant would call back in case of a technical issue, when 5 minutes passed without any response, i called back again. This time I had the same woman I spoke to pass me to her manager who then proceeded to chastise me for expecting my food at the time expected because it was a saturday and that the food would be getting to me an hour from that call i.e. almost an hour and a half later than the original delivery time.
It is clear they either didn't prioritise my order because it was a takeout despite taking my money, or they forgot/misplaced it and instead of owning either of these two things and offering me apologies and the option to cancel and refund me, I was spoken to as if my expectations as a paying customer that my food should arrive roughly at the stated delivery time were unreasonable and that I just needed to get over it.
The amount of disrespect with which I was treated, when all they needed to do is inform me, apologise about the situation and offer me a refund for a nearly £20 if I wanted to change my mind was so stark, I hung up on him this time.
I will never be ordering from here again and I would say despite the high quality of the food that customers go spend their hardearnt money elsewhere for a takeout because it's evident they do not take customers seriously if they...
Read moreHaving never been and driving past regularly we thought we'd try it out. Our table was booked online for 8:30, we arrived 5-10 minutes before that time and while stood at the bar were blatantly ignored but two members of staff. After checking their system and finding we were indeed booked in we were told out table was just being set up and would be a few minutes. We sat down, the place seemed buzzing and decor while a little flowery was quite cool. Minutes went by no words or eye contact from any staff almost seemingly to be deliberately ignoring, other customers left yet the table they departed was not cleared for at least 15 minutes while more customers had arrived and were waiting to be seated, all too being told their table was being set up. After hearing a customer come through to the bar from the restaurant to order his drinks as he'd been waiting 20 minutes and was unable to 'flag anyone down', we walked out having not been seated, eaten or offered any apologies for our wait.
I completely understand how busy restaurants can get, many factors can affect service. However to blatantly ignore customers and clearly lie about waiting times isn't good enough. The food may be fantastic but I wouldn't know, whereas the service was appalling and makes me question the other reviews relating to this restaurant.
If indeed there was a reasonable cause for this next time communicate with your customers, openess and honesty goes a long way.
Wow just viewed the response (which has since been edited) claiming I've lied about this and told me I should be careful, the table was booked under my partners name not mine, we never asked to be fitted in, we were on the system. clearly we aren't...
