One thing I have to say about Suede, is that their customer service is absolutely impeccable - seriously the best customer service I have ever received at a restaurant or takeaway.
First off, both the staff members who I spoke to on the phone (once to place my reservation and the second time to inquire about prayer facilities) were not only very helpful but spoke very warmly and pleasantly, which is rare to hear when ringing most food places at regular afternoon hours, let alone 9pm at night. Secondly, the second we stepped through the door we were greeted warmly by the name we left on the reservation by a member of staff, before swiftly being escorted to out seating - this during busy hours when the entire restaurant was full. We were given zamzam water, fruit and asked whether we wanted to order before or after praying. We prayed first, in a prayer room that was very decent, with nice soft prayer mats. We then returned to the table and were able to order very quickly, and were then served after a reasonable length of time had passed. Throughout both ordering and serving and right until we paid the bill, we were checked upon by the staff very politely and were not in want of anything. When I wanted to order an extra drink mid-meal, I was able to flag down a waiter straight away and was given my drink promptly thereafter - two things that usually irritate me when I am unable to do.
Very very regrettably though, I have to take one star off the review for the slightly lower standard of the food we ordered. We ordered the Ramadan starters, which consisted of lamb chops, Korean style fried chicken chicken and prawn spring rolls on lettuce. The starters were absolutely spot on; hot, delicious and bursting with flavours unique to each other, and the portion size was great too.
However when we ordered the lamb steaks for our mains, we had 2 issues: one - the meat was tough, chewy and not cooked to the specification we asked for, and two - the two jus we ordered alongside it were very less in quantity. I have no doubt that had we raised these concerns with the staff they would have been resolved to the best of their abilities, however the staff were so nice we felt bad troubling them and chose to leave it, which was definitely our own personal choice on the matter. The triple fried chips that came with the steak were delicious though, and both the steak and chips were generous in quantity.
Overall, the entire experience was a very positive one, and I would definitely recommend Suede. The only difference is next time I would definitely order the starters and have something else for my mains, such as the burgers.
Thank you to all the staff for contributing to our amazing experiences, we really...
Read moreCame here for a birthday meal with my family. After seeing their high ratings, we were expecting a fine dining experience. I will say the customer service was top notch and the atmosphere was very nice - music wasn’t too loud or obnoxious and plenty of places to park.
The food on the other hand, did not live up to our standards. The mocktails were nice. The starters, were OK. We ordered 6 starters and I’ll say majority of them were warm. The Korean chicken was almost cold, and some pieces were hard which made me feel sick. My brother in law had the lamb chops and they were slightly undercooked and pink inside. The wagyu beef sliders were ordinary sliders. The King prawn chilli fry was nice.
Onto the main courses. I had the Grilled Brochette Fillet. The meat was nice however heavily over salted. I couldn’t finish it. The fries were nice. The vegetables were overly charcoaled and completely black. My husband had the Short Rib of Beef. It was tender at first but towards the middle the meat was extremely dry. He also found a piece of plastic film in his food. We let the waiter know. My sister had the Hundred Layer Lasagna. It was one hundred layers of pasta. There was hardly any meat or sauce. You cut into it and it fell over because of how many layers of pasta there was and how stiff it was. Lasagna is supposed to be meaty and cheesy. This was a block of pasta. My brother in law had the lamb and said it was nice. My stepdad had a rib-eye and really enjoyed it. My mum got the Glazed Half Chicken. On the side was supposed to be sweet potato purée. It was normal mashed potato, with the chives mixed in and the spoon left in there. She said it looked like someone had chewed it up for her and left it there. Overall, the food was borderline cold and underwhelming. It looked better than it tasted. We have been to many fine dining restaurants in Leeds, Manchester and London, and I would say this is not fine dining. Pretty much everyone didn’t enjoy our time at this restaurant and it was disappointing for a birthday meal. I would say if you have experience real fine dining, you will be disappointed with Suede. If you have only experienced food within Bradford, this will seem like fine dining for you. We will not be returning, with the quality of food not matching the price...
Read moreMy first time here after been reccomend by my brother who had been twice in one week. So i had to try.
The service i received from when entering to leaving was very attentive and friendly, the lad the dealt and served us was great more staff should be like him and his attitude towards work his name was hamzah.
For starters i had the korean chicken This is definitely a must, it had a great flavour and crispy outer layer and succulent chicken inside. Was delicious .
For mains i had a beef wellington with extra veg and mash. My wife had the pan roast chicken as she doesnt have any other meat.
Saying that the menu did lack other chicken options.
The beef wellington was cooked just right wasnt tough nor too under cooked. I absolutely loved every bite . It could of done with a bit more sauce that comes with it if i was being really picky but nonetheless it was spot on.
As for the pan roast it was a bit on the bland side the breast part of the chicken was nice an soft but the leg and thigh was a bit tough. Not the best dish if im honest but then again its a chicken dish in a meaty place.
The lamb chops was highly recommended to me to try but unfortunately i have to say they were just okay they were a bit dry but just okay.
Unfortunately as we had to leave never got to try dessert but i will be back to try other dishes.
Presentation on all the dishes were great and the choice of plates were really nice too.
The resteraunt has a nice interior so makes the whole experience more comforting...
