From my wonderful experience of The Ruby, I am very disappointed to see any negative reviews about this great takeaway!

Can't believe someone moaned about biriyani being too hot, clearly is an example of why Indian food is usually tailored for the ever demanding moaning British! Real biriyani is spicy medium heat! Lmao Usually dedicated to people on a budget 😂

Had the best vindaloo, rice, stuffed paratha supplied with a generous complimentary of sides which included sauce, onions, and pappadom which other Indian take aways particularly in the city always charge for, wether you are new or long serving Customer!! The vindaloo was perfect heat, not too hot, more flavour than just a crazy thick chilli pot of phall from other failed indian takeaways I have tried Recently.

The Lamb is Lamb!! Not Mutton dressed as lamb or any other tricks! Spoke to the owner on the phone to commend the service and brilliant food, he seems like genuine guy who clearly takes pride in his business, with so much attention to detail in presenting a professional establishment. Right down to a friendly, fast and trustworthy driver who didn't take advantage of me not having the correct money to pay! Offered £20 with a little tip on top and said give me £2-3 pound change, £3 change was given to me with no hassle.

Horrific, second time I’ve had food from this place that was inedible!!

The first contained chicken with the texture of wood and this one, well I’m unsure whether they had simply run out of the correct ingredients but my jalfrezi arrived and it was luminous red, I took one bite and not only was my mouth on fire there was an overwhelmingly bitter taste that made me feel sick to my stomach.

I called to complain and the most I was offered was a replacement jalfrezi on them next time I call he said he didn’t put any green chillis in he replaced with chilli powder!! That’s right they gave me simply chicken in hot chilli powder to the extent that it was so gut churningly hot and bitter that it was not edible and as I’d tipped over the rest of the food I had, simply offering to replace one dish to make me have to go back there is quite simply not decent.

My suggestion is to use Raj Garden not only are the reliably fresh and good but they cover exactly the same area and in all the years I’ve used them they have always been as close to perfect as...

Used to be a regular here but never again. The quality of the food has become dreadful over the years, sauces are watered down and the flavours are gone. Last two times I've been here I've asked for paneer curry as I'm vegetarian but have been given chicken then prawns instead as a restaurant that prides itself on it's vegan and vegetarian options, this is extremely disappointing. Don't trust them to get orders right anymore. I'm lucky I don't have allergies.

Update: My husband went back to The Ruby to complain and the guy told him that he must've mixed up the curry with someone else's. So at least two people got the wrong order that night. He then gave my husband a full refund for the order which seemed fair as he had driven there twice at that point and I certainly wasn't going to be eating anything else at that point. But the employee then changed his mind and chased after my husband before he could leave and wouldn't let him leave the store until he gave back some of the refund so he only had the money back for the curry....
