Unfortunately, I’ve come away quite dissatisfied with my experience at Wagamama Braintree today. I understand, it’s a Monday, perhaps not everyone’s ideal day for a date night out, but if I’m being honest it was not even remotely pleasant. Upon entering the building we were seated promptly , next to a placemat which to note, had not been cleared the entire time we were there, at 19:10 we were given menus and then waited a further 10 minutes for someone to take our drinks order. I mentioned that I had an intolerance to certain foods, and at this point the member of staff told us that they would ask the manager to be with us instead to take the order “straight away”. This is not out of the ordinary for any Wagamama experience , I am used to this so didn’t think anything of it, until we waited 12 more minutes before being asked again by the same waiter if the manager had been over yet to take our order. She had not. The initial demeanour of the manager seemed pleasant but I could tell she may have had a bad day. She took my order efficiently and then took my partners. Within 5 minutes my partner received his main course. And then a further 5 minutes later our drinks arrived. Nothing seemed out of place, as mentioned with Wagamama , everything comes when it’s ready. I began to get restless after 20 minutes of waiting for not only my main but also our two side dishes too. After 35 minutes, all 3 dishes arrived at once. Whilst I could argue that my food was eloquent, it took 35 minutes to arrive at my place, and considering there were 5 tables with people in the entire restaurant, I can’t even reckon with the fact they may have been understaffed and busy. Wagamama will always send out what’s ready first and we appreciate that. But 35 minutes between my partner receiving his food, and me getting mine, is just not on. We requested our table number to pay online but the manager printed us a receipt to pay with her. She apologised for the wait and I politely said, no worries. We paid with the card machine and after she realised we had not tipped her, she left us without even saying a simple goodbye. We both feel that nothing was done to deserve the tip, especially given the attitude of the manager. The waiter that initially tried to serve us , bid us a goodbye and even a Thankyou. We won’t be...
Read moreWe went here today with two friends..ie a table of 4. Two of us ordered the same meal. Our friends dishes came out first...5 minutes apart. But 30 minutes later we were still waiting for ours 😥 Out of politeness our friends waited for ours to be served before eating theirs....but their meals were going cold 😥 We asked several waiters where our meals were only to be told they were being freshly cooked! That we understand...but surely you do not serve a table of 4, two at a time? However, it appears this happens in every Wagamamas everywhere...according to the manager!! He did agree we should have been told when we ordered that we would be eating separately..nearly 45 minutes apart....and did not charge us for our meals as compensation, an admission that this should not happen? On looking around we noticed a few other disgruntled customers. Not a good start for a new restaurant 😥 There was also building works...very loud drilling mainly...going on all the time 😥Access to the toilets was restricted 😥 We will not be returning anytime soon....and future customers should be aware that you will NOT be eating at the same time as anyone you go with 😥 Such a pity that our meal out was spoilt as what we did eventually get to...
Read morejust want to take a moment to share an incredible experience we had at Wagamama recently. As we walked into the restaurant, a member of my team unexpectedly passed out at the entrance and went on to have four seizures right there in the restaurant. It was an extremely distressing and worrying situation, but the way the staff handled it was nothing short of outstanding.
Manager Chris and waitress Millie were absolute stars—calm, professional, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire ordeal. They took control of the situation, reassured us, and provided amazing care and assistance until the ambulance arrived. In what was a highly stressful and emotional moment, their professionalism, kindness, and genuine concern made all the difference.
I can honestly say they are the most professional and friendly people we’ve ever come across in such a situation, and we’re beyond grateful for everything they did that day. A huge thank you to Chris, Millie, and the whole team at Wagamama—you’re a real credit to...
