The good and the bad! Judging by the queue this place is popular, but people seem to ignore social distancing as soon as they enter the premises, as though that will speed up the time it takes to receive their order. This is not the fault of the store owner but still annoying. I queued for 10 minutes and was then told they'd just sold their last Traditional Cornish Pastie and there would be a 20 minute wait for some more to be cooked. Surely they know how many of these they sell so when getting down to their last 10, they start cooking some more. It was 1.30pm, probably their most busy time, the shop is called The Cornish Bakery, I mean come on guys, get a bit more organised!! I ended up ordering a couple of sausage rolls which were lovely but they do need a bit of future planning if they want to be as successful as possible. Hopefully they will take this on board and rectify it in the future. Updated; Returned to the Cornish Bakery today and decided to eat in. We ordered a couple of pasties that were delicious and piping hot. Staff are nice and friendly. Just a note, but they don't sell branded fizzy drinks and we didn't really fancy a milk shake or tea with our pasties. There is disabled access and one toilet, which is also their disabled toilet and baby changing facility. Hope this helps 👍

Braintree Cafe It's a cafe with toilet available therefore would come whenever in Braintree. No heating service for the baking products. The drinks were okay, not too sweet. The pastryand tart were nice. Actually their cheese scones are very famous too, unfortunately they would be sold out very early. The food and drinks were okay but not the environment. The tables and seats were full of food crumbs. The central heating of the cafe was a bit too much, as it's a bit hard to breathe. The toilet was dirty whenever we visited. But at least it's a toilet with toilet rolls. Hopefully the environment would be cleaner next time!

Absolutely spot on coffees, and I have been to numerous coffee shops. Had two of the best pastries I have tried for a very long time, especially the Almond Croissant. Helpful staff too.

Hello !!👋🏻 During my visit to Braintree as a tourist in the UK, I decided to take a break from shopping and stopped by Cornish Bakery. It was one of the best decisions of the day! From the moment I walked in, the smell of freshly baked goods drew me in.🤗🤗🔥🔥 The food at Cornish Bakery is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the cherry & almond pastry it's a true treat for the taste buds! They also serve excellent coffee, which perfectly complements the whole experience. I couldn't resist trying a few other pastries, which were also outstanding.🫶🏻 If you need a break during your tiring shopping trip, I highly recommend this place. At Cornish Bakery, you can not only enjoy great food but also recharge your batteries for more shopping. The staff is smiling, very friendly, and helpful, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The girls working there are really great – it's clear they love their job and care about the customers. Cornish Bakery in Braintree is definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a place to eat well and relax. I will definitely return there on my next...

I am sitting here with my mouth agape at the laziness of 4 out of 5 members of staff. We came in for lunch and out of 16 tables, 10 had dirty crockery on them which made them unusable. The floor, chairs and bench’s are dirty and when one member of staff did start clearing the tables at 14.30, she just swept the debris onto the floor. Toilets are disgusting. There was no cleaner sprayed onto any of the tables, just one damp cloth which wiped them all (I’m assuming it was damp). When we arrived there weren’t any hot Cornish patties so returned 15 mins later. The tables were all dirty then, the staff were just looking at them. When we came back nothing had been cleared up. The food was good although 45p for two spoonfuls of brown sauce is taking the Mickey. Someone from HO needs to do a...
