From the moment I stepped through the door, I knew this restaurant was special. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between warm and elegant, creating a setting that makes you feel instantly welcome. The staff went above and beyond—attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely passionate about making the experience memorable.
One of the first things that stood out was the fresh, warm naan (bread) and comforting soup served as soon as you sit down. What’s remarkable is that, unlike many other Asian restaurants—whether Turkish, Arabic, or Iranian—where you often get charged a fortune for similar starters, here it feels like a thoughtful gesture that sets the tone for the meal.
Unlike other restaurants where you have to wait ages for your food this place are very quick and efficient in bringing your order.
The food itself was simply exceptional. Kurdish cuisine is an absolute must-try, and this place captures the real taste of food in every bite. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, clearly crafted with the finest ingredients and meticulous attention to detail.
What really impressed me was the consistency: from start to finish, everything was flawless. It’s rare to find a place where the service, food, and ambiance all come together so seamlessly. This isn’t just a meal; it’s an experience worth savoring.
Whether you’re looking for a casual evening out or celebrating a special occasion, this restaurant is a true gem. Kurdish food at its best—I can’t recommend it highly enough, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
The portions are impressively generous—you’ll almost certainly have more than you can finish, making it perfect for taking the leftovers home to enjoy again. Considering the size and quality of the meals, the prices are very reasonable, which makes the whole experience even...
Read moreWe visited on a Saturday around 7pm after spotting this place on Instagram, we were really excited to try it out!
It does get busy, but the turnaround is fast. We only waited about 4 minutes for a table, which was great.
However, service was a bit of a letdown. It was quite full, so maybe that contributed, but we had to wave down a waiter for everything, menus, placing our order, cutlery, serviettes, even the bill and takeaway boxes. At one point, we had to walk up to the counter just to get menus. That definitely soured the experience a little.
On the bright side, what seemed to be the manager came over at some point and was very kind and helpful, much appreciated!
Now the food... WOW. We ordered freshly squeezed fruit juice, and it was so good! There were three of us and we shared the Round 3 Platter. Yhoooo, it was massive! Honestly, it could feed 8 hungry people. Every single item was delicious. 5/5. We had to take most of it home (picture is what we took home) - they should warn people about just how much food comes on this platter.
Also loved the complimentary lentil soup, a generous touch, and genuinely tasty (picture). Oh, and the platter comes with hummus too (which I love). Absolutely delicious!
All in all, the food exceeded expectations, and we left full and happy. Just hope the service...

This new restaurant in the heart of Bristol is already putting itself on the map and it’s easy to see why.
Let’s talk about the food. The complimentary soup was a lovely surprise. Light, refreshing, and full of flavour. A perfect way to begin the meal, and you could really taste the freshness and quality in every spoonful.
We followed that with the Hummus topped with Shawarma, served alongside freshly made naan bread. The hummus was thick, smooth, and clearly homemade, rich in flavour and beautifully presented.
Then came Round 3, the mixed grill platter for six of us, and it was seriously impressive. Overflowing with juicy lamb chops, chicken shish, wings, lamb shish, and more all sitting on Rice, Chips and Coucous, it was a feast that not even all of us could finish! Everything was perfectly grilled and seasoned, the kind of dish that gets everyone excited around the table.
If I had one suggestion, it would be to offer more condiments or sauces for the table to share, a few extra dips or house sauces could really elevate the already fantastic flavours and add variety for a big group.
All in all, Anaya delivers a memorable dining experience with great food, generous portions, and warm service by the staff. Definitely one to watch in Bristol! I’ll be coming...
