We came here for Valentine's Day. Food was good, service wasn't amazing, and the atmosphere was a bit odd.

Atmosphere : the main bright lights were on and quite loud music. It's the one hugely romantic night of the year so would've been nice to have it a bit more romantic and darker!

Food : really great. Particularly the Ox Cheek. We really weren't a big fan of the pistachio cheesecake, it was soo dry, but that may just be personal preference! It was a set menu, which I wasn't made aware of when booking in early January. This really changed the price of our meal out, although I understand why it's easier for the kitchen - just hard as a student!

Service : We ordered a bottle of wine at the same time as sitting down and had 3 of the tapas courses before it arrived. We also only had 20 mins left of our booking at this point so felt we needed to absolutely guzzle it down! The people who served us were nice but never bothered to have any form of conversation, but i understand some people like that. I did try to grab their attention to ask after our wine but they weren't ever looking towards us! We took the service charge off for the above reasons and were made to feel quite awkward by our server.

We would attempt to come back and try again on a normal night - the...

Bomba Tapas has been on my radar for a while and tonight we got the chance to try it in order to wash away the post holiday blues. Contemporary decor and chatty atmosphere made for a pleasant date night meal. We put ourselves on the waitlist via OpenTable and we were seated immediately on arrival. I was glad I did this because soon after the restaurant was full. We had great service and amazing cocktails plus the food was pretty great too 😁 The sangria was good but my favourite drink was the Cheers Drive a must if you are a honey rum fan! And definitely upgrade to the Jamon Iberico butter if you order the daily bread choice, I'm so glad we got the last portion of it because it was simply delicious 😋 I followed the recommendation of the Peanut Parfait for dessert and it didn't disappoint (like a deconstructed snickers bar) but hubby also really enjoyed his churros. A solid choice of restaurant in this neighborhood for a Saturday night especially if you are fans of Spanish food like us, we...

An incredible dining experience! I have tried over half of the menu and there wasn’t simply anything bad or disappointing to say about it! Food was to die for and served with such a beautiful presentation. Croquettes 11/10, mushroom and truffle risotto- deserves a Michelin star, goat cheese salad will take you on a trip to Spain even in a rainy day in Bristol, hake was melting in the mouth.. there is just so much good you can tell about foods that bomba tapas have in offer. Let’s not forget about the cocktails they have on the menu! Lemon pie-tini it’s another level of mixology, liquid gold for all of the fans of desert cocktails! Some of their signature cocktails are also so well balanced and easy going that you can’t resist to just get another one. Service on the note has been a top notch and I will recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to eat out! Guys carry on what you are doing! Looking forward to new experiences that your menu will bring to the...

We arrived hungry and ordered: Bread & oil Olives Trio of Croquetas (spinach, jamon Iberico, gambas) Gambas pil-pil Hake & romesco Patatas bravas Tuna tartare More croquetas Bottle of Pinot Grigiot Why we’ll definitely be going back: The croquetas were immense! Packed with flavour. So good we ordered another round and woke up talking about them the next day. The romesco sauce around the perfectly cooked hake was also scrumptious, and the prawns were sweet & juicy. Every member of staff was super friendly and accommodating. At £77 (including service), we think the evening was great value. We look forward to trying more dishes on the menu next time we visit (and having more croquetas)! Room for improvement: The olives tasted of brine more than anything else, and the tuna was a little heavy on the soy, masking the other flavours. Minor issues that didn’t take away from an otherwise really good meal.

Came for date night on a Saturday evening as a first time visitor who loves tapas. Greeted and sat straight away by a very efficient server and ordered a couple of cocktails which were really great tasting. The cocktail menu is impressive as it’s not just the standard cocktails and quite a lot of interesting flavours to choose from. We had 6 small plates between the 2 of us and it came out as a steady stream of food which I really enjoyed as made you savour the taste and slow down a bit. A lot of people would prefer to have all the food at once, but not me and it definitely worked for the style of food. The food itself was a little underwhelming and could have done with more seasoning, although that being said there was some real highlights of the Hispi cabbage, rump steak and patatas bravas. I would return for the cocktails and the service and would give their food another go.
