Café Cuban delivers an authentic and heartwarming experience, especially when it comes to their signature dish, Ropa Vieja. As you step into this cozy establishment, the inviting aroma of slow-cooked meats and spices immediately evokes a sense of comfort, setting the stage for what feels like a culinary trip back home.

The Ropa Vieja at Café Cuban is a standout. The dish is perfectly executed, featuring tender, shredded beef simmered in a rich, flavorful tomato-based sauce. The balance of spices, including garlic, cumin, and bay leaf, is expertly blended, providing depth without overwhelming the palate. The beef is succulent and melts in your mouth, with the accompanying bell peppers and onions adding a delightful crunch and sweetness that complements the dish beautifully. Each bite feels like a warm hug, reminiscent of a home-cooked meal prepared with love.

What truly elevates the experience at Café Cuban, however, is the service. The staff exudes a genuine warmth and friendliness that makes you feel like more than just a guest – you're treated like family. They are attentive without being intrusive, and their passion for the food they serve is evident in their eagerness to share the stories and traditions behind each dish. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, the hospitality at Café Cuban ensures that everyone feels welcome and at ease.

In conclusion, Café Cuban is not just a place to eat; it's a place to connect with the flavors and traditions of home. Their Ropa Vieja is a must-try, offering a delicious and authentic taste that is hard to find elsewhere. Coupled with their exceptional service, Café Cuban provides a dining experience that is both memorable...

Absolutely Fantastic Cuban Gem in the Heart of Bristol What a delightful surprise! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive without being intrusive, and clearly passionate about what they do. The food? Simply outstanding. Bursting with flavour, colour and authenticity . every bite took us straight to Havana. The slow-cooked pork was melt-in-the-mouth perfection, and the black beans and rice were spot on. Even the cocktails were on another level …’the mojito was easily the best I’ve had outside of Cuba! The atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxed, with great music and décor that makes you feel like you’re on a tropical holiday. Everything from the service to the presentation showed real care and attention to detail. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. We’ll...

I cannot express my delight at finding this great spot tucked away in Stokes Croft. My first experience of Cuban cuisine is now love at first taste! I felt so at home and the art and background music created a very authentic Cuban atmosphere that increased my love for this culture. The food? Absolutely delicious! Something I imagine a grandmother making for me. Flavourful, nourishing, and 100% satisfying. If ever there was value for money, it would be here. The cocktails were fantastic and my mojito was not overly sweet which mojitos can sometimes be. The service was excellent and the lady that served us was sweet. Food was served quickly, generously, and piping hot. What can I say other than, I have found a new gem and will definitely bring the whole family here next time. Highly recommend anyone to...

Good find! Not a five star place but definitely a good one! We went there on a Saturday night and we were able to find a table with no booking. It was pretty busy though. The atmosphere is great, the cocktails are really good and the food feels like it’s home cooked. I tried the Ropa Vieja (slow cooked beef stew with olives served with rice, avocado and plantains) - it was delicious but I wish it came with a salad or smth lighter on the side. It was a bit heavy in that combination but I guess it’s authentic. Some of the best sweet potato chips I had in Bristol, with garlic drip on top. The Special Mojito was good, though a bit sweet for my taste but still proper (you can always ask for less syrup) Margarita was on point 👌and I really appreciated that they left half the rim with no salt (pour le connaisseurs) ..

The place is vibrant, crowded, and decorated with character. I enjoyed the Ropa Vieja dish, especially the self-proclaimed “best Mojito in Bristol” - was quite worth it. We got slightly ripped off, realising that after the fact, but it might’ve been an accident, as it was very noisy and overcrowded the night we were there, so a misunderstanding could have happened. We also paid before everyone else got the receipt (it was a large society outing) because me and my friend wanted to leave earlier. That could have contributed to the confusion as well, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Otherwise it seems like a cozy and lively Cuban restaurant that I would still consider going back to. (although next time I will check exactly how much I am paying, and if it’s correct!)
