Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Bristol

Extremely long wait for 2 drinks! We came for a QUICK drive thru coffee on the way out for the day, as it was fairly empty, we ordered a frappe and a strawberry lemonade. We were told there would be a 5 min wait on the frappe, we were happy to wait 5 mins. We were told to pull into the waiting bay where 2 other cars were already parked, There were 5 staff behind the counter and 3 of them were stood around doing nothing, not to mention the cars that had ordered after us, parked behind us in the waiting bay had recieved their order of 1 or two drinks within a reasonable time and we were still waiting. After waiting nearly 40 mins for 2 drinks in the blistering 34° heat I was not happy! When our drinks finally came i asked what had taken so long as there were people coming in, ordering and leaving within 10 mins, and the people ordering after us had been and gone, the young girl (probably no older than 17) replied and told me she had only just started her shift and she didn't know what was going on?! No explanation or appology so I dont think I'll be returning to this Costa again unless I have a spare morning or few hours just...

Popped in for a coffee while shopping, it didn't look open, it looked really dark but there were staff members behind the counter, no one greeted us when we walked in so I asked if they were open because it still wasn't apparent to which a lady said "yes, were just cleaning and sterilising ok" so we told them that was fine we were happy to wait. The same lady then continued to glare at me for about a minute so I made conversation with my partner because it was awkward but she continued to glare, I was so confused so I asked her if she was ok, she continued to glare so my partner asked her if she was ok and she just snapped "YES" BUT carried on glaring at me? It was the most surreal experience I've ever had in a coffee shop 🤣 We exchanged about 4 words each so it was the weirdest situation. We didn't order we just left. I'm still so confused hours later as to what caused it? I'm leaving this review because had that had been someone's first public outings since lockdown that would have been a really naff...

I would like to share a review of this lovely friendly coffee shop. But especially to one member of staff who is always always so friendly and helpful, JORDAN, he has been working there now 4 years I believe. I know this because I asked him. He is so friendly every time I go in, nothing is ever a problem when you ask him. Every Costa shop should have a JORDAN.. I hope this review reaches him. He is such a valued member of the team.. I'd also like to give a shout out to Kieran who is always there working so hard with a big smile. Nothing is ever a problem. He is hard working, polite and such a team player. I love coming in to see his smiley face. He is always happy to help. Aneta is another member of staff who is also friendly, helpful and smiley. Love these three members of staff especially.
