Truly awful experience. Decided to treat family to breakfast there, and it ended up more like a nightmare! Order the full breakfast buffet for all six of us, who range in age from 50's down to three years old. After being seated we are told that they have run out of apple juice, bread, croissants and pain au chocolat! Straight away that's the little ones breakfast completely out the window. At the same time as telling us what wasn't available, the waitress also took out drinks order. Six orange juices and three cups of tea. Simple enough? Nope. After waiting fifteen minutes I decided to chase them up and lo and behold, a couple of minutes later they turn up. Woop, woop! Six glasses of orange juice, three empty mugs and directions to where to get the hot water for making your tea. Total wait time for drinks, just under twenty minutes and no order taken for our hot food. Eventually our order was taken and then the wait for our cooked food began. The younger ones were getting bored and hungry. Hurrah!! Only twenty minutes after ordering it, our cooked breakfast arrives and we start to tuck in.... Disaster strikes when we discover a long black hair embedded in the baked beans. Off I toddle to the bar and ask politely for a replacement. Ten minutes later a different waitress appears with food. Only for it to have a my food order on it, not the food that a slightly fussy teenager was patiently waiting for. No worries, the waitress says that she'll be back ASAP with the correct food. Bearing in mind that this place does an unlimited cooked breakfast I say that I'll eat it (seeing as it's what I ordered first time round) I'm met with an abrupt "no, I'll return it to the kitchen" and off the waitress goes in a huff!
Definitely the worst experience ever whilst eating out. If you want good customer service skills, and everything that's on the menu, then avoid the Wessex Flyer...
Read moreWORST BREWERS FAYRE WE’VE EVER EATEN IN!!! Called in on a Saturday morning for breakfast with my husband. Was told we’d have to wait for 10mins for a table which wasn’t a problem. Paid for 2 cooked breakfasts which was self serving. We got our cups of tea and juice and left them on our table whilst joining the queue for Breakfast. We must have stood for approx 20mins waiting for replacement foods to come from the kitchen the plates went cold as did our toast and our cups of tea which we had to replace for hot ones. There appeared to very limited staff serving and those that were there was so stressed they didn’t know if they were coming or going. The coffee machine had ran out of beans so you ended up with frothy milk. Unfortunately without knowing, our daughter had booked a table at the same place for Sunday lunch. We didn’t tell her of our experience the day before so as not to spoil things. We had the carvery but again because of lack of staff there was only 1 chief at the server so when food items got low he had to leave his station to go to the kitchen to arrange more food. Disgusting really as what he’d served you was again getting cold whilst you waiting for the veg to come out. We waiting for the Yorkshire puddings but we decided to not bother as our party was waiting to eat. Seriously for the cost of what we paid we’d have been better off going to McDonalds. Would not recommend Wessex Flyer. Come on guys, either invest in more staff or rethink your cooking schedules because it’s really not acceptable to have people queuing for food that the food that they already have on their...
Read moreThere is always at least 8 of us so being crammed around a large table in an alcove which really is not ideal to get in and out of. Food is average, service below average and prices are average. Although they say the carvery is served up until 6pm don't take the chance! We booked for 4.30pm. We all wanted the carvery but when we arrived there was only two dried up pieces of meat to choose from beef or turkey, very little veg and we scraped the bottom of the barrel for gravy. I personally chose a meal from the menu. The staff were pretty rude and made some of our family wait another 10 mins before they could pay for their food - what this achieved is a mystery 🤔 When asked 'Izack' (excuse the spelling!) was flustered, rude and when I told him his customer service and attitude was bad he said (holding his hands in the air 🤷♀️) 'I didn't care!' And believe me it certainly showed - THAT to our family said it all!! This place has certainly gone WAAAY down in our estimation. A line needs to be drawn and they really need to take some big steps back and have a good look at just what it is they're trying to achieve because what they are doing now is not acceptable to a lot of their customers! As for the price of their Christmas menu £54 p.p... think you'll be better off giving your money to a more deserving establishment who won't ruin your day and who actually 'care' about their paying customers, the food being served and the service they provide at this important...
