Nala is now among the top choices of my regular go-to list of restaurants in Bristol! Recommended by my daughter a few days back after her first visit, we visited Nala tonight to try their noodles and I couldn't be more satisfied with everything we tasted. The three of us tried the followings:
Spicy Seafood Laksa Rice Noodles (Seafood) - what a surprise! Authentic and legit! the soup base is even more authentic than a lot of restaurants serving laksa noodles in Asia.
Beef shin noodle soup - flavourful and original! the soup base is so flavourful you can imagine how much time they could've spent boiling/slo-cooking this soup base to bring out the fresh and "beefy" flavor. The beef shin tasted so good too!
Special Scallion Oil Tossed Noodles - aromatic and delicious! a nice touch with a bottle of Sichuan peppercorn on the side which you could drip a few drops for the sichuan style spicy flavour
Chicken Satay - a bit caramelized on the outside with perfect brown while maintaining the tenderness inside! The satay sauce with crushed nuts/peanuts for dipping is simply perfecto!
The noodles are all made by themselves so it's got this unmatched tenderness while maintaining a tiny bit of asian style "al dente" in the mouth!
All in all, Nala is a highly recommended restaurant for any occassion! From now on it will become the first choice for a saturday night out dining in Bristol when we're craving for...
Read moreI have been twice now with my wife, and we can't wait to go again! The food is just fantastic - really authentic, flavourful, and fresh. The noodles are the star of the show for me; as the lovely staff explained to us, like everything on the menu, they're made fresh every day, and it really shows in the texture and taste. The noodles served in an amazing broth, which is so deliciously savoury and comforting - perfect for cold winter days. Alongside the noodles and broth, we've tried the savoury pork and beef shin, both of which were excellent. The pork belly, in particular, was so flavourful and moreish.
We also had the mixed mushroom tossed noodles, which, if you're a fan of mushrooms, I can not recommend enough. Among the side dishes, the spring rolls are an absolute must! Usually forgettable from your standard takeaway, the spring rolls at Nala are something special - crisp on the outside, but succulent on the inside. And another surprising recommendation from me is the basil tofu with pork. Tofu is not typically something I look for, but this was just bursting with flavour. It's definitely not something I'll overlook in the future.
With the generous portion sizes, very reasonable prices, and friendly atmosphere, we've definitely found a new favourite for us. Considering they also offer takeaway, I'm excited to try everything else...

The noodles are as authentic as it’s from Hong Kong.
The beef biscuits noodles is so good that the noodles are homemade from the restaurant, the soup is also made with love that they spent hours to boil this bone soup as a base. At last the beef is so tender and a good balance of meat and tendon so it’s soft and chewy at the same time. Duping it with some of them homemade chilli oil is a must.
The seafood laksa is as good as the ones I had in Singapore, the noodles is full of fish balls, tofu puff, deep fried shrimp that stores the fresh rich favour of the shrimp and some sprouts. The soup base is so full in favour with good mixture of the spice and coconut milk and the texture is abit thick that I love about it.
Both of the noodles are in good portion that kept us really full after eating it. The ice lemon tea is really good, it’s not too sweet, it reminds me of the Hong Kong. Their self made chilli oil is so good that you guys should ask for it when you try their noodles, it’s so delicious and not too spicy but the favour of the chilli spice is so full.
The staffs from the store are really nice and friendly. I will...
