Speaking of the menu, it is a culinary masterpiece, offering a diverse selection of dishes that cater to all tastes and preferences. Read moreI've never rated any food shop with 1 star. But these guys are an exception. First order I did was on Uber and they sent me half a chicken rather than a full chicken. I called there phone number to get delivered items fixed. But there phone number displayed on Google maps is incorrect. Then I went to the shop the next day and even after showing proof from Uber I was told they will provide me with half the chicken they missed to deliver. While I was there I purchased some Perri Perri sauce bottles £3 pound each. I purchased 3 flavours and I didn't receive any receipt for them. When I reached the hotel I realized that the expiry date had already passed. So I went back the next day and I was told to produce a receipt. And I said I wasn't given one. Then the Perri source I purchased the date was checked with the ones on the shelves. I wanted a refund but this was not possible they said. I told them these items are out of date. Then one of the staff members was about to give me a refund and then the boss came and said no why you giving him a refund. So I knew that this was a loosing situation. Then the boss told me this is the manufacturing date. So I swapped two of the sources with newer dates, these where still not current. Food is tasty. But there service stinks I would stay away from this shop next time I'm at Bristol for business. The management really need to look deep inside there selves and change there ways as to being truthful about how they deal...
Read moreTheir pricing is really odd. Chicken is great. But pricing and consistency of value in terms of portions? Really odd. At best it's personnel dependent on the latter. Sometimes one can order Chicken & Rice and get what's close to about 250g of Chicken if not more. Sometimes its closer to 100g. This isn't a positive experience for the customer.
Meanwhile pricing: Fried Chicken is a better price and consistency than a place like KFC: the chicken part is actually not laden with bones. And the price is good. But when it comes to smaller items like Wings, bizarrely you're looking at more than TWICE the price of its competitor. There are probably economies of scale I'm unaware of but not 100% more, there's just no way.
The best bet: having seen and tasted a friend's, I'd recommend the Tenders. These are good pieces of chicken. Honestly some of the best when they season it instead of just giving you a cup of the stuff. Really tasty and satisfying. But unfortunately about as small as if this were sushi we're talking about and not poultry.
Like I said, this is one of the better chicken places you'll find in the UK. But man, wow, in terms of consistency or pricing? Its likely not a place we'll return to. I'm not a fan of anything KFC offers except its wings. And even I'm willing to bear the linoleum and endless lines for a group dinner if it means half the group doesn't feel disappointed or ripped off. I prefer Pepe's Fried Chicken. But...
