Two of us went for dinner on a Friday night a few weeks ago (mid April 2024) and sat in the dining room at the back. Really nice atmosphere and food was good quality gadtro food, great value and good beer to boot. Service was mostly good but unfortunately one of the servers kept asking us if we were finished (e.g. when her colleague had just brought us a new round of drinks) and eventually brought us the bill anyway explaining the kitchen was closing (which is fine, we just didn't know we needed to settle up before 9/9.30pm) and continued to bustle about, irritated, I assume she just wanted to get home. It would be great if either diners were warned about this policy or another way of managing outstanding bills could be organised so diners don't feel like they're inconveniencing staff? Read moreReally lovely local boozer :-) The interior and garden have both been refurbed really thoughtfully, and now there's a big restaurant area out the back too. However the burgers on the main menu were REALLY good (both the vegan and the meat version). The chips were really well cooked and seasoned too, my only small gripe would be that it would've been nice to have a bit of green (like a small bit of salad) on the plate.

Read moreFantastic traditional pub, with beautiful floral baskets and planters outside; who had really friendly staff wearing a smile, a wide selection of both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, and a really great selection of food on the menu, with a real twist on standard pub food. The homemade hummus is fantastic -with roasted vegetables blitzed through it, as are the lamb kofta -to recommend just 2 items, and all the puddings are extremely good. Everything was freshly cooked for our order, and had been cooked and presented very well. The garden is fantastic, a real little haven and as a bonus, is dog friendly. You can even buy really good quality dog treats at the bar, so your dog can enjoy the trip to the pub as well 😁. I highly recommend this lovely pub, and will definitely...
