The Rising Sun Windmill Hill — Restaurant in Bristol

I had a joint birthday party at the Rising Sun in March and I can't recommend it more! The staff are so lovely, the pub is so cosy and welcoming and they gave us an entire area out the back that can accommodate 40 people for free with no minimum spend! We were able to play our own music and service at the bar was quick and easy. They can cater for you too if you want (we didn't take this offer up but it was well priced). Highly recommend you go, it's a beautiful pub anyway but so great as a venue for a special occasion. Thank you!! Lou...

Not a real pub. Another good pub turned into a gentrified dive for middle class bores who couldn't hack it in London. It's more crèche than pub now, a safe space to take Tarquin and Felicia without any of those ghastly working class "povos" in sight. Now they can talk about the important things in life in safety, such as house prices, banksy and of course London, all while sipping their daily lattes or overpriced overhoped...

This is a pleasant pub with the now familiar 'Shabby Chic' look.

A nice greeting from the bar staff and what looked to be a good range of beers and spirits on hand.

The reason I have marked it down on the atmosphere is because during our time there, a group of 'regulars had a takeaway curry delivered, which they ate at the table opposite, something I assume was sanctioned by the owners?
